NOTE: The mod is adapted for the Black Edition v1.64 version, the one that is available on Steam and GOG. Stable work on other versions is not guaranteed. Compatibility with other mods is also not guaranteed.
Installation:
1. If Painkiller: Lost Alpha 2.0 Legacy Update Hotfix #1 from 31.05.2024 is installed on your PC, unzip Tough Break Update to the game folder with file replacement;
1.1. If the original Painkiller: Black Edition v1.64 or Painkiller: Lost Alpha 1.0 is installed on your PC, unzip Developer's Cut Edition to the game folder with
file replacement;
1.2. Developer's Cut Edition contains the most up-to-date mod version, after installing it, nothing else needs to be additionally installed. In case of any doubt,
install DCE;
2. If there is a Levels folder in the Data folder after installing the mod, delete it;
3. If necessary, change the game settings for yourself again;
4. To apply most of the changes, it is enough to reload the level from the map, for everyone to start a new game;
4.1. If you loaded the quicksave/checkpoint from the old version and did not encounter any critical problems, you can continue playing on this save.
After completing the level and returning to the map, most of the changes will be applied.
