This is actually cool and creative! I hope you will update the model and its detail. I have a suggestion, the main cannon can be a nuke just make the reload time 6 mins so that the unit is balanced and does not ruin the fun. I hope you will update it soon.
Pro tip: If you want to get SupCom to respect smoothing groups you need to separate the faces of each group to their own element, then also separate them on the UV map. If either is connected then either the exporter or the game smooths them together into one ugly amorphous blob.
