Deus Ex is a series of first person video games, consisting of three games: Deus Ex, Deus Ex: Invisible War, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

While all three games have distinct settings and story lines, together they explore the methods used by the world's elite to control and manipulate society. Human Augmentation also factors heavily in the stories, being introduced in Human Revolution and explaining the main characters super human abilities through all three games.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
(Deus Ex 3) 2027 A.D.
This game takes place when the development of bio-mechanical augmentation by a few elite and powerful companies threatens to destabilize society. The main story follows Adam Jensen, a private security officer for one of these companies, as he attempts to figure out who is behind recent attacks on his company. The events in the game lead to the formation of UNATCO, a global anti-terrorist organization formed by the United Nations.

Deus Ex / Deus Ex: The Conspiracy
(Deus Ex 1) 2052 A.D.
This game takes place after a rogue organization Majestic 12(MJ-12) attempts to take over the world by secretly releasing a virus only they have a cure for. The game is played through the eyes of rookie UNATCO agent J.C. Denton, who through the course of the game discovers the true identity of MJ-12 as a rogue offshoot of the once powerful Illuminati. The story ends with a final confrontation with Bob Page, leader of MJ-12, and a moral decision for J.C. Denton to seize power for himself, restore power to the Illuminati or destroy the work of MJ-12 entirely and possibly create a new global dark age.

Deus Ex: Invisible War
(Deus Ex 2) 2072 A.D.
This game takes place after an event known as The Collapse, where several global organizations offer competing ideologies for how society should function. The story follows recent trainee Alex Denton, clone of J.C. Denton, as he completes missions for these organizations, learns their true identities and intentions and in the end decides which organization should rule the world.

Deus Ex 1 is hands down my favorite game of all time. Terminus Machina was a pure labor of love that I essentially developed on my own for the most part...

Then go ahead and ask someone to make a few extra mods. If you have something in mind that you wanna see in a mod, or a few ideas, let any one of the modders around know And they might start something. Otherwise, you could try to make some yourself. It's a pretty fun experience. Plus, you could also gain some knowledge from modding that you could use at a later stage to make a profit.

I feel like you're treading in spoiler territory in the descriptions for the games' stories.

I've been putting off playing the main Deus Ex storyline again until the next rev of Revision mod comes out. I hated it at first, had trouble accepting it, but then I grew to like after the last rev of the mod (1.3.1). Now I can't wait for it. Been running through Redsun2020, and ZODIAC again, in the meantime.
I even reinstalled Invisible War to play again. I know most peeps hated it but I always liked it even though it was such a departure from the original DX formula, and despite there never being an SDK.

Yeah invisible war wasn't that bad of a game. Unfortunately it just sucked compared to be the awesomeness of deusX1. Maybe if it were released as standalone with it's own style it could have been okay.
