Registered my personal domainname. I can buy my own name back for USD $ 3.495 tax excl., which is prohibited by all domain registry proceedings, yet the cost to do go after them is really beyond my financial means - and thus, it's lost to me. My own name.

Godaddy/Dan.com is an absolute scam and has been for years. I registered aaronwolf.com through godaddy years ago. They "repoed" the domain claiming I had not updated my contact info but they had no problems contacting me offering to sell me the domain I still owned for premium pricing. Absolute trash company go elsewhere there's plenty of other options.

Dan.com is a Scam. We paid 2-3x to acquire the same domains with Dan.com over more than 28 accounts.
3 authorization links we were sent from Dan.com were bad. Customer support was uncoordinated, unhelpful, whom ultimately transferred 2 of our domains to a Dyna Account we don't have access to. 2 other domains, Dan.com sold them in the Market and were lost.
Authorization codes were often invalid, but Dan.com still charged $100 for re-sending the authorization codes.

I sold a domain through Dan over 3 weeks ago but still haven't received payment for it. They have repeatedly told me that they are 'chasing the bank' for an explanation as the payment was made to an account that no longer exists and thus should have bounced back. They appear to have no intention of reimbursing me whilst passing the blame back on to their bank and telling me to wait and wait...! I have lost all faith in them as a marketplace and feel terribly betrayed and let down as a customer. In fact I feel as if I have been robbed!

It's a really dodgy scam. As part of Go-Daddy and 123-reg, these guys will remove your bank details off your domains in your 123-reg account and then not send you renewal emails. When the renewal then fails they will remove your domains and put them up for sale at ridiculous amount so money and refuse to give them back.
UPDATE - DAN.com have stated they have tried to contact me through Trustpilot. literally no contact at all. 123-reg gave me their legal contact. This is indirect blackmail.
Further Update - These guys are now trying to get my review removed. As a company they decided to take my domain, decided to not give it back and try and sell it back to me and then decided to feign ignorance. They are now deciding to try and have my review removed. I refuse to contact them further. This is why Trustpilot exists so hopefully this will not be removed.

This must be illegal.
They simply buy domains, do not use them and sell them at high prices. Therefore, whoever owns the legitimate name of their business cannot acquire it.
Horrible action. These terrible attitudes should not be allowed.

Scam. Domains info is not disclosed. There are vast majority of used domains that have toxic link profiles that you cannot never get rid of. You will only see it with special professional tools.
Dan isn't responsible for anything, they will happily take your money and wont return even if asked the same day.
This is immoral since marketplace should protect buyers, this is not the case here. Better go to Sedo.com or flippa, at least you have some protection.
In a real marketplace, everything would be disclosed to the buyer. Dan resists to do that.

have a very bad experience with dan.com I I tried them to sell one domain with the and they were not honest at all they say it going to take sometimes but they are waiting for the to do it to the buyer to accept the code they didn't told me that and they are slow and there's nothing nothing automatically with them everything then manually I don't know why they are taking $100 commission from selling a 500 dollar domain $100 of commission for what they didn't do nothing the only thing they did is they just take the code to the to the to the new buyer and if the buyer took 5 months to reply they will tell you how it takes in 5 months to the and they are not honest at all it's so very bad experience I don't know how they have this old reviews they are awful honestly

I am writing to bring to your attention to several issues I have encountered with a recent transaction facilitated through Dan.com.
Unfair Negotiation Tactics: The seller changed the agreed-upon price multiple times after initial acceptance and payment, which I believe is a violation of fair negotiation practices and your Terms of Use, specifically Section 5.3.11, which prohibits "false or deceptive language." After I made the payment, the seller refused to complete the transaction, that the price would be higher.
I believe the seller's actions and the handling of this transaction may have violated your Terms of Use. Specifically, the seller's actions constitute "false, abusive or fraudulent activity" as outlined in Section 5.3.12 of your Terms of Use.
Furthermore, the seller's messages to the Dan.com team, which contradict my (Buyer's) understanding and agreements, suggest potential deceptive practices. For instance, the seller's request to cancel the transaction due to a "technical glitch" and their claim of a misunderstanding about the price agreement are inconsistent with our separate correspondence.
Dan.com customer service was unwilling or unable to support the buyer in this transaction. Though they were willing to refund the initial payment, it was not the remedy that aligned with fair negotiation nor the so-called legally binding agreement.
Edit 7/8/24: I have attempted to provide additional information, per the commented request, but Trustpilot has told me the needed link expired after just 3 days from my initial post and cannot be re-opened. I am still seeking a resolution from Dan.com.

Unreliable, unfair and shady business practices. They just double the price during a negotiation, after first offering a lower price, but suddenly increase it after you show interest. Won't buy from them now and chose another domain.

Unbelievably slow. For some reason dan.com doesn't have the domains they are selling in their registrar and the owners are slow to respond to dan.com, which makes the transfer process very painful.
Edit: 4 days later with no progress and customer support has been extremely unhelpful
