Sybase's mobile subsidiary iAnywhere Solutions has had its software chosen by Tower Hamlets College in the UK for use in a student attendance tracking system.
The software from iAnywhere will be installed on a number of PDAs which will be used to capture student attendance information. This is expected to reduce the rate of truancy and will support a recent educational initiative which provides students with GBP30 a week if they achieve 100% attendance at college.
The cost of the implementation was not disclosed.
