(ĕn-tĕb′ə, -tĕb′ē) A town of southern Uganda on Lake Victoria. Formerly (1894-1962) the capital of Uganda, it is the site of the international airport where in 1976 Israeli commandos rescued hostages held by a group of Palestinian hijackers.
