The stand-alone mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly aims to be the most stable and customizable experience for fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It's powered by the Monolith 64-bit engine, a custom fork of the X-Ray engine.
Atmospherics is a weather mod that aims to be natural in its presentation. It is the culmination of many hours of work which has led to this. Below you'll find all the information that you'll need. Thanks you!
Hello everyone,
Hippo here, I'm posting my "Weather - Reshade - Shaders" mod titled Atmospherics.
This mod has only been tested for G.A.M.M.A and EFP. Instructions on how to install for Anomaly are below. The mod itself is a weather mod that attemps to be natural and lore friendly by emulating the colors and themes of the zone in real life. I have spent many hours with many different revisions up until this point. I have used a color accurate monitor for all of the color grading within this weather mod.
There is a google drive link below and it's for EFP. The GAMMA version can be installed from the main DOWNLOAD button above or link above. The video install guides for both Gamma and EFP are above. To install for anomaly, check the anomaly install section below.
Read Below then click this LINK for the install guide.
For EFP disable the mods from the Visuals section of MO2 below:
- [Awene] Agressor - Custom Weather.
- All the [KennShade] mods.
- [Joe325] Nicer Reflections.
- All of the Ascii1457 mods.
- [Lvutner] Optimized Sunshafts.
- [Iretuerye] Golden Autumn Retexture.
- [Detron] Better Rain FX
For EFP install the following below:
- Screen Space Shaders 18+ (Latest version).
- Enhanced Shaders (01 PBR/FIXED BLOOM/ OPTIONAL SIMPLE) NOTHING ELSE.
- MODDED EXES (Install Manually).
- EFP VERSION OF ATMOSPHERICS.
- Reshade (OPTIONAL).
EFP load order, with the bottom having the highest priority in MO2:
1. Enhanced Shaders 1.10
2. Screen Space Shaders 18.
3. Atmospherics EFP version.
As of GAMMA 0.9+, Atmospherics is now included by default, as such you won't need to do anything aside from downloading GAMMA. The only thing you need to do is follow step 8 of this LINK. By default Atmospherics for GAMMA uses AtmosGAMMA reshade which is very subtle you can change that by opening the reshade menu by pressing "Home" on your keyboard. Once that is open you can follow step 11 of the link above and select the reshade of your choice.
To install this for Vanilla Anomaly (non EFP & non GAMMA) look below.
You'll need a couple of mods and the load order being:
-MODDED EXES/SSS EXES (Install Manually)
- Beef's NVGs (WITH ES Patch).
- Enhanced Shaders (01 PBR/FIXED BLOOM/ OPTIONAL SIMPLE) NOTHING ELSE.
- Screen Space Shaders 18 (Latest version).
- Anomaly version of Atmospherics.
- Cinematic VFX" Particle Effects Addon (3.7) OPTIONAL FOR PARTICLES
- Reshade, OPTIONAL.
Load order for Anomaly in MO2:
- Beefs NVGS. (With ES PATCH)
- MCM
- Enhanced Shaders 1.10. (PBR/FIXED BLOOM/OPTIONAL SIMPLE) NOTHING ELSE
- Screen Space Shaders 18.
- Atmospherics.
With 5 being the highest load order and overwriting everything else. I would not install this manually, I would create a mod organizer 2 anomaly instance and install it as the above. Make sure to delete your shaders cache. Once all the above is done, you can then follow this LINK for the rest of the guide.
Atmospherics requires Enhanced Shaders and Screen Space Shaders. The above mods are required to achieve the desired look. Many thanks to the creators of ES and SSS.
When it comes to the reshade portion of atmospherics, the reshade presets are created by phroZac and myself. Special thanks to phroZac for releasing atmospheric presets that suit atmospherics.
Notably some of the reshade presets feature TFAA and RTGI. I cannot legally provide you with a copy of the RTGI reshade effect. I cannot redistribute. TFAA is included and is the best Anti Aliasing in Stalker at the moment. Keep in mind both RTGI and TFAA are performance heavy and as such are disabled by default.Anyone here is more than welcome to repurpose Atmospherics for their own use and make reshade presets for it.
If you have any questions please let me know, thanks!

- Reworked the reshade presets, all the phrozac presets now use luts. This results in fps savings. For example in AreaX I can now drop 3-4 effects because they are now covered by the luts. AtmosR and AtmosBody have had their brightness and color grading changed. They now use lightroom instead of prod80_contrast_brightness_saturation and levels. This results in an increase in fps.
- AtmosR+ was moved to a separate module in the installer to indicate that you need access to marty's patreon server to get it working correctly.
Patch Notes 10-30-2023 Atmospherics 2.1
- Changed the last 3 "dark" weather cycles so that they now achieve their max darkness at around 9pm instead of 8pm. This mirrors the behavior of the other weather cycles.
- Increased the strength of god rays from 07:00-09:00 am and 18:00-20:00 p.m. This is done for about half the weather cycles. For foggy weather cycles their godrays were increased globally for most hours with early morning and late evening having the most prominent godrays.

Damn, it all works, but I can't get the puddles to appear (which are a notable sight in the mod). I did many different tests (but let's be clear, I'm a poor "nub" at these things) (I reinstalled ScreenSpaceShaders with the essentials, with some, with all the options - not the ice one - but nothing), many different tests rudimentary, but I couldn't get the puddles to appear (but I hear footsteps on the water in the puddles and I see the surfaces of buildings etc. wet).
I put the mods in the prescribed order before all the others differents mods, after all the others. I do not know how to do...
The google drive link for the Anomaly version isn't working. Is it maybe possible to make separate moddb pages for each version?
I just installed for anomaly and trying to load the cfg for reshade, but "cfg_load atmosr" (per the youtube install guide) is returning "Cannot Open Script File [atmosr.ltx]. The regular "cfg_load atmos" does work however. Has something changed with the recent version?
Disregard - I see in the patch notes it was simplified to just “atmos”.
If we want to restore to vanilla (no reshade), do we just “cfg_load user.ltx”? How do we disable the preset in ReShade?
i keep getting an error

Scroll down and get the Anomaly version, i am assuming you are trying to run the Gamma version
OMFG I hate ******* 7zip and Windows Defender. I moved where my internet isn't good. Waited 20 goddamn minutes for this to ******* download and then it's flagged as a virus. Now I have to turn off ****** Defender and download again... Man, WINRAR > 7zip
Man, no antivirus > antivirus
Cfg_load atmosr
"Cannot open script file [atmosr.itx]
pretty sure its just "atmos" dont put the "r" in there
I have an issue, I followed all of the instructions. But when I loaded a new game, the screen is black. I can see everything else though like the hud, and if I go into the backpack, I can see that too. But everything else is just black.
Fix is simple
1. Run game with debug mode
2. Load game
3. Open console
4. Type r2_sun_lumscale 3
5. If doens't help, try this cfg_load grading_default
6. If still you have black screen, just restore your user.ltx (you can find one here Moddb.com but wait for authorization
Completed these steps tp try and implement into my EFP installation and still no change.
I think you misunderstand the issue. The environment is rendered as black. It does not appear as a lighting issue. Menus all still work correctly, including the HUD.
This was using the following:
EFP v4.2
Atmospherics 2.49
ScreenSpaceShaders v20 (Also tried v19 [v19 would not compile])
ReShade 5.9.2
ES 1.10
Not updated on Gdrive.
It is, only and tiny change is for color weather clear1 and clear2, something I didn't seen difference so it looks same as previous update
I'm using the Skies Redux addon ( Moddb.com ). Which addon has better sky textures: yours or "Skies Redux"? And should I continue using the Skies Redux addon?
yup. i was just about to ask similar ?. i just noticed after updating from 2.45 to 2.47, its now overwriting a bunch of skies redux and ES files, that it hadnt overwritten before.. i dunno should i let it be and overwrite it all, or leave it at 2.45. ? what looks/works best?

Is there any possible way to get this to work without Beef's NVGs?
Edit: got a tip from a friend that you just have to delete sky2.ps from the Atmospheric shader folder, then Atmos will work without Beef's. Confirmed, works great!
it does overwrite "stereo thunder non directional" from the souncape mod , is this intended ?
Do you happen to know if beefs meteor showers is compatible
Moddb.com
Also is meteor showers compatible with 1.5.2 you think? Just wondering if you might know, thanks!
Atmospherics is incredible, a wonderful mod that is a total game changer!
Before I brick my EFP install, is this performance friendly or no?

Been playing Gamma and the weather is just phenomenal. Just a great blend of beautiful and eerie.
NVGs and Fires completely break if you enable BaS
the pulses in my game ( the singular psi storm things ) have a blocky outline when they appear, any idea why?
could you make a simplified version for dx9 without using SSS shaders
