"Loner"
Part 1 of a complete weapon reanimation and rebalance pack for Anomaly.
"Loner" - focusing mainly on early-game and common weapons found in the Zone.
The goal of this mod is to provide an enhanced experience to the vanilla arsenal complete with new animations, weapon balancing and stat tweaks, and addition of jamming and firemode select animations.
***IMPORTANT NOTES***
- This was designed for 0.4 HUD FOV and supports up to 0.5. Going higher may lead to undesired results.
- This pack is not completed and only replaces the weapons listed below.
- This mod is still in development and may contain bugs or errors.
- Playing with "Enhanced Recoil Effect" option is not recommended when using my weapons.

Idk. Maybe. Probably not. I have no intentions of making the mod compatible with every other addon out there, however the scope of the project is simple and should be easy for anyone to make their own compatibility patches.

Mind you I know nothing about animation making, but I tried to pick only some of the files (weapons I know I'll be using) to make it easier on myself to merge it with other addons. During that I learned that animations of R870 are dependent on wpn_hand_kiparis_hud_animation.omf and Mosin animations are dependent on wpn_hand_walter99_hud_animation.omf. What the hell, man.
Good job on the animations tho. They look great, especially the shotguns are a giant improvement.
that's because in vanilla Anomaly files, some .omf's had shared animations for multiple weapons. walter99 for example had animation files for like 6 or 7 different guns. In previous Anomaly patch you could only replace these files, but with the new Anomaly patch it's possible to make separate .omf's. I will separate my anims into their own custom .omf files but maybe in the next major update.

Really good workl overall animation seems much improved over vanilla guns. But, why did you change shotguns to kick like 1900 blackpowder rfles!? Youtube.com
Because they are shotguns, designed for close range only, and are OP af in Anomaly. Also, the stockless shotguns have insane recoil. Shotguns with stocks do not.
Very true, but I think increasing recoil to unrealistic levels isent a good way to balance them. However, its your mod so if you think its the best way I wont complain;)
But still, I would appreciate an optional rebalance option or just seperate animations vs rebalance.
What's unrealistic is the default recoil values in Anomaly. However, I will be including optional files in the next patch for those who want default weapon recoil.
Yes vanilla is unrealistic aswell, I feel like something between vanilla and current recoil with this mod could be good. In any case ty for including optionals.
Btw it seems your mod cause MP-443-Grach (wpn_mp443) to become invisible. Not sure how though since it isent stated as something you touched. Tested with just anomaly + yourmod and newgame+ loadout to get the weapon quick (https://streamable.com/35wvjz)
I'm aware of the issue with MP-443. It will be handled properly in the next patch ;)

Now i've played this for some days - this mod is very robust and induces no conflicts with another mods i use. I give you 10/10 not only for the mod itself, but for your patient and polite way you're managing the flood of massages in this thread.

So theres gonna be a theme for every update? The next one is military so I'm guessing in the future it'll be "Duty," "Mercenaries," and then "Monolith" themed weapons? That's pretty cool.
Yes, that's the idea. The roadmap right now looks like this:
"Military" -> "Mercenary" -> "Freedom" -> "Machine Guns"

This is what ive been looking for a long time. Just a simple reanimation of vanilla weapons without any tacticool nonsense, and honestly I cant wait for the next pack. Keep up the great work my man.

Hello, is it to have it when using the modern ak's the player holds the front grip of the gun instead of the mag?, like having the holding animation on the ak101 to be similar to the akm's holding animation.
To change the AK-100 to hold on the handguard would take animation work.
I thought there was a way to swap models or animations in the configs, as ak74 and ak74m are similar, I really like the ak74 animations alot more then the modern.
You could try swapping their animations in the config, but they might not end up looking correct as the models and animations for each are positioned differently.

These are fantastic. I don't suppose we could get a version where you hold the 74M's and 100 series rifles by the handguard though huh?

Latest version of Anomaly.
Manually install by extracting gamedata folder to your Anomaly installation, or use a mod manager.

I seriously cannot wait until you get to the NATO weapons. Is it possible to include both a bolt release reload and charging handle reload for those guns like the M4A1, M16, and LR-300? (The charging handle one is basically what's already in the stock versions of those three weapons I mentioned from Anomaly) :D
Oof... I personally hate charging handle reloads, lol. Maybe I will include an optionals folder... we'll see.

I always thought using the charging handle was inaccurate. But I found out that you could use it irl, but it's always recommended to use the bolt release. Especially when in the military.
