Portal Remastered is a mod that attempts to remaster the original portal in the portal 2 engine. The models, textures and lighting have all been updated to be more in line with the style of portal 2 while making sure the levels still retain somewhat of a Portal 1 vibe.

After over a year of waiting, update 0.4 is here and it contains the first part of the escape (from test chamber 19 to just past where you re-enter test chamber 9). While Escape Part 1 is very close to completion, it's still subject to change with further updates so let me know your thoughts. This update also includes bug fixes and lighting tweaks for the previous Test Chambers.

The first part of the escape sequence is taking a while to finish but I still think I might be able to finish it by the end of march or early April
mod "Portal is alive and well" do you have a connection with the developers, it's just that this mod has been in development since 2014, the last post was in 2021, the author himself is silent and does not speak with the community
no, but the Alive and Kicking mod was actually the mod that inspired me to make Portal Remastered. When I started working on Portal Remastered (April 2020), the last time they posted any screenshots were in 2015 so I assumed the mod was dead.

Don't know if this was mentioned, but In chamber 15 if you try to get stuck in the box with the catcher, the escape hatch opens with the "Oh fiddlesticks, what now?" error playing. There's also a nodraw texture inside there too.
If you trap yourself in a room it will play the dialogue for that but it won't open the door so you are permanently trapped

The next major update will include Test Chamber 19 and the first part of the escape sequence. I want to try to get it out sometime this month or next month.
This is arguably better than Portal with RTX... In that my PC can actually play it, and it makes Portal feel more connected to Portal 2 because they use the same design now.
