In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl power station. Soviet authorities established a 30km 'Exclusion Zone' around this nuclear wasteland, but in 2006 a second explosion rocked the stricken reactor, obliterating all living things and causing the Zone's boundaries to ripple outwards. From this epicenter came waves of mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy. The Zone was cordoned off by the military, who would shoot on sight anyone foolish enough to brave the horrors within.
It is now 2012 - man has ventured further and further into the heart of the Zone driven by reports of strange 'artifacts' imbued with anomalous energy. Mercenaries and bounty hunters compete to recover these artifacts, which command extortionate prices on the black market. Others seek to find the truth behind the Zone, while some merely revel in the desolate lawlessness of the place. Whatever their motivation, over time these individuals - Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killer, Explorers and Robbers - have become known as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s.
Work on patch 1.0.5 is in full swing, and you can already notice changes in many small things. Finally, we got around to creating textures for railway paths, now the transition from the terrain to the paths is smoother and not so striking, personally it really annoyed me, well, the textures of the paths themselves are now of acceptable quality, I tried to make them more abandoned and dirty. Also, I finally got my hands on creating a normal texture of safes, for me, this is one of the works that I shelved, since I did not know how to approach the creation of this texture, and in general there was no inspiration to create it. A lot of different little things have also been fixed in a variety of textures that simply won't fit in the post, but in any case, the work is complex and colossal. I also want to express my gratitude to all those who support the project and understand what hard work.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy has now added official mod support for PlayStation and Xbox.
Many have noticed that the number of news updates about the project has decreased since 2024. But why?

fantastic game!!.....very system shock 2-ish.
and with all the mods you could play it for years. I suggest the realistic weapons mod tho...really makes the gameplay scarier because you could die at any time. And you can use any weapon you like cause it doesn't make alot of difference. so if you want to be stealthy with a silenced aks-74u you can do so with 1-3 shot kills. after a while without the mod it's like playing COD4 with headshots only :)
It`s a shame that there is not any mod (or any that can keep up)for the newest patches...
There is no need to "keep up" with the new patches - 1.0005 and 1.0006 are exclusively for multiplayer.
Сool. STALKER is ukrainian game. I'm from Ukraine. It is pleasant to hear such reviews.
Nice game, especially when played with mods. What i don't like though is lack of modding tools. All there is is beta MP SDK....
this only applies to the first patch, the rest of the patches dont hae that :)
i just saw this and... WOWWWW!!!!
SATLKER- Is The most atmospheric game ever been created. My favourite one and its nice. I like it a lot=) And i also think many people do
This is an amazing game, and one of the few that have drawn me in to the characters so much that th first time I faced a 'bloodsucker' I nearly wet myself, the game is beautiful and is by far the most atmospheric game ever created
Some of the weapons do need some tweaking, and the fact that I can barely hit anything with some of the weapons makes moments of the game heartstoppingly terrifying. The game has some of the most original design ideas I have ever seen, one of the greatest moments I found playing was exploring the hotzone of Yantar Lake, the brainwashed people attacking me and the brainmelting effects as you walk into the town made this part of the zone all the more exciting.
I have seen a few bugs, but since I started playing the game later many of the bugs people complained about before have been fixed, just make sure you patch your game before you start playing, patches have a nasty habit of corrupting old save files. At the end of the day I am very glad I bought this game, and now that the game is only $29.95 there is no excuse to give it a try.
On a final note if you wish to make the game even more atmospheric download a couple of mods, namely the Weather Overhaul mod
Stalker.gamefront.com
And the Fallout Flashlight mod
Stalker.gamefront.com
Good:
Atmosphere
Design
Weapons customization
Bad:
A few crazy bugs
To play at best graphics you need an amazing pc
No Co-op
Save files corrupted after each patch, hopefully this will be fixed
Multiplayer:
Could have been better
Mods make it unplayable but mods are easy to remove from the game
It's a great game when you have gotten used to it! While I have to play it with graphics on the lowest setting, it doesn't detract from the game at all!
