Stellar Blade: How to repair a Damaged Weapon Core? Stellar Blade guide, tips

A damaged weapon core does not allow you to upgrade the Blood Blade in the game Stellar Blade. Our guide explains how to repair a weapon core and who performs this type of service.

Last update: 09 May 2024

During your time with Stellar Blade you may encounter a problem with the collected Damaged Weapon Cores not appearing in the Repair Console interface and you not being able to use them to improve the statistics of the Blood Edge weapon wielded by EVE. On this page of our guide, we show how to repair a Damaged Weapon Core so it becomes an item available to use at a Repair Console.

Weapon Cores are items in Stellar Blade used to improve the attack power of Blood Edge, EVE's weapon of choice. They come in 2 varieties:

  1. Fully functional Weapon Core - every defeated story boss leaves behind one such Core - remember to collect all loot that a boss drops! You can immediately put such a Core to work at the nearest Repair Console. Applying it will increase Blood Edge attack power by several dozen points.
  2. Damaged Weapon Core - these are dropped by optional bosses who are often encountered during free exploration of regions. Most of the time, these will be returns of bosses from the main story, e.g. a different Gigas appearing in Wasteland who is similar to the one you've faced on Eidos 7 during the story quests. Only exception to this is Behemoth boss.

Bosses that make a comeback during free exploration are more powerful than their counterparts from the main story. Prepare well before confronting them. We also recommend carrying a WB Pump so you can respawn mid-battle.

Meeting with D1G-g2r drone and repairing Damaged Weapon Cores

4 - Stellar Blade: How to repair a Damaged Weapon Core? - FAQ - Stellar Blade Guide
  1. The source of the Distress Signal is found in Junkyard, which is a location in the northern part of the Wasteland. As you arrive, make sure to unlock the nearby supply camp.
Watch out - the game may cancel this side quest after progressing past the first point of no return in the main story - we describe this topic in the FAQ chapter of our guide - Stellar Blade: How to repair a Damaged Weapon Core? - FAQ - Stellar Blade Guide
  1. After reaching the site, you'll determine that a D1G-g2r drone was the source of the signal. The drone will ask you to "Reset the claw crane's control system", which is an environmental puzzle that you need to solve while in Junkyard.
  2. Successfully completing the puzzle unlocks a Shop. D1G-g2r has some items in stock and also can take Damaged Weapon Cores off you.
  3. The idea for the exchange is simple -for every 2 Damaged Weapon Cores delivered, you receive one working Weapon Core which can be used at a Repair Console.

Watch out - the game may cancel this side quest after progressing past the first point of no return in the main story - we describe this topic in the FAQ chapter of our guide. Don't leave the visit in the Junkyard for later, as you may not be able to visit it at all. The last chance to activate and visit the Shop in Junkyard is before the second point of no return (before embarking to the final location of the game).
