Wind Run

Wind Run is a status effect granted by wearing the Asksvin cloak.

Movement speed is increased when moving in the same direction as the wind. Not much different from sailing with tailwind while on ocean with a ship.

The bonus speed is multiplicative with other bonus and follows the formula: ${\displaystyle speed=speed\times (1+(cos(wind\_angle)+1)/2\times wind\_stength)}$
with ${\displaystyle wind\_angle}$ the angle between the wind direction and the player direction and ${\displaystyle wind\_stength}$ the wind strength (between 0.05 and 1).

For example, with a tailwind and maximum wind strength, the bonus speed is x2. With an average wind and a 90° angle the bonus is x1.25.

• As of patch 218.15, the effect does not work with Moder's forsaken power (Wind direction will not change while not on a ship)
• It can be paired with Fenris set for a drastic increase in movement speed, which is even higher with Fader's forsaken power extra 10% speed bonus
• The increased movement speed from wind also works while swimming.
