Using the Hoe[]

The hoe can be used to raise, lower, or level terrain. The law of conservation of mass is not strictly followed by the terrain mechanics in Valheim.

00VW

the hoe [snapping mode on] If you use the hoe two times to raise the ground level you are standing on then from top use the level ground function to raise ground around you (stone free) you will never level the ground flat.

snapping mode on will always force the ground level to your feet. The ground has a strict limit you can't pass unless you add stone with a hoe or remove stone with a pickaxe.

the hoe [snapping mode off] the ground will never level lower or higher. It doesn't matter where the player is standing, repeatedly using the hoe on any part of the ground will only re-shape aesthetically to that of un-wild ground. Any part of the ground you use the hoe on will behave accordingly to the stone count in that part of the ground. If the player raised or lowered the ground to limit(without adding or removing any stone) using the hoe to level ground will reset this limit and re-shape the ground to natural form.

Using a Pickaxe[]

The other terraforming tool currently available are pickaxes. While different pickaxes may have different damage and combat statistics, each pickaxe deforms the terrain the same as any other pickaxe.
