Pre-Order Policy

What are pre-orders?

When manufacturers create and license new designs, they give distributors the first chance to purchase the items. We open these items to you to get exclusive and highly collectible goods. Pre-ordering is often the only way to purchase these products as they are limited runs and will not be available again.

How long do pre-ordered items take to arrive?

It depends. Although there are exceptions, most toys and collectibles arrive 4-8 months after the pre-order period. This varies by manufacturer and by product line. The manufacturer gives us an estimated release date which we pass on to you. We list the estimated release date on all IGN Store product pages; However, delays can arise for many reasons such as: transportation, import processing, manufacturing, allocation, cancellation, and other unforeseen circumstances. We are unable to offer any guarantees for when a pre-order product will arrive and no compensation can be given for a pre-order that arrives late. We do not recommend purchasing pre-order for any occasions that are time sensitive.

We want you to have your item as soon as possible. Once we receive the product, we immediately ship it out to you. The expected release dates can be found on each individual product listing but please note these are not guarantees and are subject to change. We do our best to update these dates as soon as we receive any notifications about delays from the manufacturer.  Unfortunately, due to our large and diverse offerings, we do not always receive this information. Our goal is to be completely transparent with our customers which sometimes means saying, “we don't know.” We understand how frustrating this can be; So, we offer a full refund at any time before we ship the product to you. We are dedicated to each of our customers having a good experience and we appreciate your understanding. 

Pre-order cancellations & refunds

You will be charged for the full amount of the pre-order at time of purchase but you may cancel or update your pre-order at any time prior to the release date. Canceled orders will be given full refunds. See our full Refund Policy for details. Please contact customer service at customersupport@ign.com for any requests. Once the order has entered the fulfillment process or has been shipped orders can no longer be canceled; We request that you follow our regular return policy.

Pre-order shipping

We ship your purchase to you as soon as the collectible arrives at our warehouse.  This means you won’t have to wait for any additional items in your order! Shipping fees are automatically generated by estimated weight/dimensional weight and include ‘White Glove’ handling for more delicate products.

Cancellation of a pre-order

On rare occasions, the demand for a specific collectible might fall well below the manufacturer’s expectations.  When this happens, the manufacturer will usually notify us that they will not be producing the item. Unfortunately, that forces us to cancel the order.  Please rest assured that we will provide a full refund if this unlikely situation arises.
