aflatoxin B1-DNA adduct
aflatoxin B1-DNA adduct
A molecular complex (adduct) formed by aflatoxin B1 attaching to DNA, which occurs in humans exposed to aflatoxins in mouldy peanuts or corn. ABDAs can be identified in the urine and liver by fluorescent microscopy, and are markers of aflatoxin exposure and indicate an increased risk for liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma).Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
