This cycle is
correlatable either with the Jogeva Beds or with the Jogeva and Imavere beds of the Nurmekund Formation, which both consist of wavy-bedded to nodular micritic dolostones (Nestor et al.
The Bulwer Seam was correlated in detail using a five ply model (BU 31-35), showing the seam is continuous and
correlatable across 8.2km2.
Factor analysis has identified the inter-correlation of the variables, bringing them into a closed group having
correlatable numeric responses, and in a similar fashion, cluster analysis has established the linkage tree as per the similarity level of the responses.
By the distribution of chitinozoans and by carbon isotope curves, the member is
correlatable with a similar marlstone layer at the base of the Raikkula Stage in western Estonia, informally called the Pusku Member (V.
The Valdivia Group has not been sub-divided into
correlatable units.
The El Jaguelito Formation, a unit
correlatable with the Nahuel Niyeu Formation, outcrops to the south around Sierra Grande, and is mainly composed of slates, phyllites and metawackes, metasandstones and minor intercalations of metaconglomerates, felsic-to-mafic metavolcanic rocks and metaignimbrites (Naipauer et al., 2010; Gonzalez et al., 2011a, b).
The orientations of s1 are roughly
correlatable with the displacement direction of the Longmenshan area, which indicates that there are indeed movements from NW to SE, i.e.
10C, 10G, 11C, D) and, interestingly, they have been found in levels stratigraphically
correlatable with the uppermost part of the Leza River section of the Leza Fm (Fig.
The latter form the most calcareous unit in the section, which is litho- and cyclostratigraphically
correlatable with the Vilsandi Beds and Kesselaid Member of the Jaagarahu and Muhu formations, respectively.
Although their age is uncertain, the similar sulphur isotope compositions and sedimentological features of the evaporitic deposits of both basins make us think that at least part of the evaporitic deposits of the Basque-Cantabrian Basin could be
correlatable with those in the Oncala Group.
This methodology is more rigorous and easier to apply in the coastal area due to the proximity to the reference datum (mean sea level) and the possibility of using directly
correlatable geological and geomorphologic markers (marine terraces and abrasion platforms).
Other authors indicate that the topographic depression is primarily due to tectonic subsidence and, in the absence of
correlatable geomorphic or stratigraphic markers on both sides of the structure, propose a Plio-Quaternary vertical displacement of 350-400 m on the Palomera Fault (Rubio and Simon, 2007; Rubio et al., 2007; Simon et al., 2010).
The stratigraphic units that crop out in the Juan Vich section, are physically
correlatable with the ones of Robles (1970), although they represent an age interval similar to the one proposed by Assens (1973a, 1973b).
In our discussed paper (Cassinis et al., 2007), some selected sections (such as in the Val Fontanelle, Upper Val Trompia and in the Passo di Croce Domini-Passo Valdi areas, located around the southern border of the Adamello massif) show, beneath the famous Gastropod member of the literature (Lepsius, 1878; and so on), the presence of grey micritic limestones, yielding a marly-siltstone matrix, probably
correlatable with the Siusi member of the Werfen Formation, cropping out in the eastern Southern Alps.
