attest to (something)

To confirm that something is true. I can attest to her whereabouts on the night of the crime—she was with me the entire time. I hope someone else can attest to this because they'll never believe a word you say. Can anyone attest to your volunteer work? Maybe someone at the nursing home?

to certify or bear witness to a fact. I cannot attest to what you have reported. The witness attested to the suspect's presence at the scene of the crime.
