application sharing

A data collaboration capability that lets two or more users interactively work on the same application at the same time. The application runs in one machine; however, keystrokes and mouse movement are transmitted from and screen changes are transmitted to the other participants. Application sharing provides the same capability as remote control software. See application viewing, T.120 and remote control software.
