Conformable Bedding

in geology, a relationship in the bedding between the layers (horizons, formations) of sedimentary rock that reflects a continuous deposition of the sediment from which the rocks were formed; that is, a stratigraphic sequence is observed with parallel or virtually parallel deposition. Conformable bedding also characterizes the relationship between the layers in volcanogenic and metamorphic rocks.
