The Dawn of War: Strongholds mod unlocks all seven Dark Crusade and all nine Soulstorm campaign stronghold missions, allowing them to be played directly from the skirmish menu. Compatibility is included for all vanilla and most mod races, which means that the Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle can be used on the Dark Crusade missions, blue-on-blue match-ups are permitted, and support is included for the following mods:

  • Adeptus Mechanicus Explorators
  • Black Templars: Kaurava Crusade
  • Blood Angels
  • Chaos Daemons
  • Dark Angels
  • Emperor's Children
  • Harlequins - The Dance Macabre
  • Inquisition: Daemonhunt
  • Legion of the Damned
  • Night Lords
  • Praetorian Guard
  • RAGE: World Eaters Warband
  • Renegade Guard
  • Salamanders
  • Space Wolves
  • Steel Legion
  • Thousand Sons
  • Vostroyan Firstborn
  • Witch Hunters

Any other new race mods that are released will be added to this list. This should be a fairly easy process, as I have re-coded all the mission SCAR and NIS files to make it as simple as possible to add extra race compatibility.

Full instructions on how to get this mod set up correctly can be found in the readme file accompanying the most recent release version including a list of all required and optional mods with download links. I strongly advise that you check it out before you get started.

Pray tell, what are the other seven races in this mod and what other mods is it confirmed to be compatible with? You said Steel Legion in the description, but is it compatible with say, Tyranids, or IDH?

Is it compatible with full conversion mods such as Codex?

In any case, tracking.

The race mods that are compatible with this are:

- Steel Legion
- Harlequins
- Inquisition: Daemonhunt
- Space Wolves
- Renegade Guard
- Black Templars
- Tyranids

The thing about Tyranids though is that the most recent version of the Tyranids mod won't work with the mission coding. As a result, the most recent version that will work is v0.5b1.

The next release should hopefully have full support for the Daemons mod as well.

Only the mods listed above are currently supported (check the readme file for the latest supported versions). More comprehensive mods that change stuff in the game rather than just add new races, such as Ultimate Apocalypse, Titanium Wars, Purgation of Kaurava, will cause all sorts of errors in the mission scripting. I'm not really familiar with the Codex mod, so I couldn't say for definite about that one.
