Contra is a freeware modification for Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour real-time strategy game and one of the first mods for this game. It adds many new units as well as numerous new upgrades, new general's powers and buildings. It also adds new sounds, maps, bug fixes, enhanced graphics, and other effects, as well as three new generals.
Description
Contra is freeware modification (or simply - mod) for Generals: Zero Hour real time strategy game. This mod adds over 100 new units as well as new upgrades, new general's powers, buildings and 3 new generals. New music, quality graphics and sounds for normal Zero Hour units are added too. Contra is a 'standalone' mod - it won't work in conjunction with any other mods and AI patches you may have installed, so remove them before you install it. Contra requires Generals Zero Hour version 1.04.

Hey, why GLA general promotion(assault general works fine) can't use or it doesn't appear at command bar? It doesn't really matter for me but it make me a little bit dissapoint to watch my opponent die in my massive massacre termination in the end of the game end the game.

Great, i used to play this game all the time then lost interesrt then played mods till i eventually lost interest in even all of them. hopefully this will making playing zero hour more fun, i have been waiting a long time!! thanks!!!

the mod looks fun but i downloaded it added it to generals and when i play the screen goes black but i can move and hear voices and the black goes away for a second then comes back and it starts when i build the supply center

i have a problem with the mod it might be installing it worng or something but when i play it the screen goes black and i can hear my units and move them but its black but if i move away from units fighting i can see agian

I think you have a problem with your monitor FR, try changing the monitors FR into 75Hz.

I might just of installed it wrong but the insane AI are very slow to build, at first all they do is build workers and thats it, this is the same with very hard AI as well, so can someone please reply to help me because its really boring

i have downloaded it but i get a error does any body has a error to?

half way thru the game it closes and a error comes up and say : you have encountered a serrios error. serios error can be caused by many things including, viruses, over heated hardware and hardware that does not meet the minimum specifications for the game. pleas visit the forum at www.generals.ea.com for suggest courses of action or consult your manual for technical support information. thath is whats in the error if you don't think it's real just put 1 contra data out of your zero hour map then strart the game then you have the same error but i have it half way the game!! does this mean my pc is to slow? or i did somthing rong? can sombody help me???????
the same happens to me, but idrc(i don't rly care) and i can't start a skirmish with very hard(medium) but, if you finish the skirmish fasst enought, you will winn the map, i have won over 150 skirmishes(just to tell you)
the usual solution for this problem, make sure your have the right hardwares. Secondly if you are using multiple memory modules, it should have the same specs and brands to avoid conflicts with data transmission. Ex: two memory modules of kingston at 2gb at 800mhz.

contra is probably the longest running mod for zh so far: 7 versions and with an upcoming eighth. great work guys!
i tried uninstalling it and deleting the files from Contra but it will still launch Contra even though i uninstalled and deleted the files. Also tried reinstalling the whole FD and still dosent work and tried deleting the My Documents/Zero Hour data folder but it still dosent work. any1 have an idea on how to FULLY uninstall the mod so i can get back to playing the old ZH?

I'm doing a current reinstallation of the whole game but when I tried to uninstall Contra[even with the fixed Contra Launcher which is needed as said by the uninstallation procedure on your site, Contra.cncguild.net manual] it said, "Mod and Game must not be in the same directory"... and now I can't remove the mod whilst when I installed it, the installer was the one who put the mod files in the game directory.. and now the Contra Launcher is complaining...
For manual uninstall del:

rename *.contra files to original extension.

Man i tried to download this mod at Strategy Informers.com and they let you download CRAP, none of there downloads work man don't download there!!!
this is really amazing, but when we play it on LAN with 2 more people it always gives an error named "mismatch and syncronization". we do not get this error message while playing it by uninstalling contra, but it was not that enjoyable after contra :)) thus, what are your suggestions to cope with this problem. please help us because we are really ****** off getting this error message :) thank you!
Try to put all PC's details in low at the options menu it could help with the syncronization of low speed computers over the high speed pcs
