Brutal Doom 64 by Sergeant Mark IV
Installation:
1 - Unzip the content.
2 - Place a doom2.wad file in the main folder. It doesn't matters if you got the file from Steam, Gog.com, whatever,
any official version of the doom2.wad file will work. Final Doom iwads (tnt.wad and plutonia.wad) will also work.
If you don't have it, get it here Store.steampowered.com
3 - Use "bd64 zandronum.exe" to play. You can make a shortcut of it on your desktop.
For advanced users:
You can extract all files from the skins folder, and make your instalation.
This mod supports any version of GZDoom (including dev buids), or Zandronum (2.1 or higher).
If you already have an older version installed, just delete everything
and use this installation instead. You can't play your old save games
with older versions, but you can use the idclevxx command to start the
game on the map you left (for example if you stoped the game on map10,
just type idclev10).
This installer only works for Windows users. It supports any Windows version.
If you are using Linux or Mac, you need to download a new sourceport, extract all the 3 files
from the skins folder, and configure everything manually.

To play multiplayer you will need Doomseeker.

You can extract the files from the Skins folder and run them on your own installation.
This installation of Zandronum 3.0 alpha that I included has everything configured for optimal performance.
If you are going to move it to your own installation, remember to disable the Enhanced Night Vision Mode.
This instalation is configured for a 1600x900 default resolution, on windowed mode.
You can change it to fullscreen and change it to other resolutions by going
to options > set video mode.
You can run either bd64v1_main with other map packs or vanilla Doom maps, or bd64v1_maps alone to play these maps
with custom gameplay mods.
You can control the amount of blood and gore by opening the console and typing bd_bloodamount * (* is a number from 1 to 4)
You can enable the "janitor" to make blood and gore disappear after some time by typing in the console bd_lowgraphicsmode 1 (type
bd_lowgraphicsmode 0 to disable)

On a second note, DAAAAAAAAAMN this is awesome so far! I've always loved Doom 64 to bits, and this mod just brings it to a whole new level!
The map pack is a corrupted .pk3 file d/l several times archive will not open. needs a fix and repacked
The "mappack" is not a real PK3 file, but a WAD file.
Sooo I guess the next update will be V2?
Anyone else trying to play just the maps? I can't seem to 100% most levels in terms of kills by playing using only the bd64mapsV1.pk3. I don't mind the unending final boss since I'm playing vanilla but it's kinda irritating that I can't get 100% kills on most levels for some reason XD :)

oh my god. this is beautiful. hey quick couple of questions.
1, is there any way to get this to work with doom 64 ex?
2, is there any way to pick and choose which brutal doom aspects i use? i want to turn off certain things. namely, i'd like to turn off the brutal doom weapons. i don't know why, but i just like the original guns better. at least for the shotgun and such. also not a fan of the duke nukem weapons. however, i love the lighting effects, the fog, the enormous amount of options, the new intro level which is absolutely amazing (on a completely separate note, please make some more levels like this. i'd like to see a whole new campaign with levels like this one). basically, the mod is amazing. i would like an option to disable the guns though. just so used to the old ones.
3, is there a way to play this coop? i read something about multiplayer, but i don't care about deathmatch. is there an easy way to play the campaign with friends?
...think that's it for now. but yeah, this is amazing. good god. i didn't even like brutal doom for doom 1 and 2. this however, this is amazing. the atmosphere is so thick i can cut it like butter.
Found a bug, you can keep picking up shotguns even if your ammo is full.
This is massively unstable on GZDoom 2.3 pre 306 (x64 version). Notably, a lot of the crashes seemed to be related to the smoke, because it would crash almost every time I trid to walk through the centre of one of the smoke objects. After a crash in The Terraformer (when the terraformer smashes through the floor, on the final strike), whenever I try to load the save GZDoom closes to desktop. Updating to pre 326 did not solve either problem.
@dan50 that was in regular doom 64. so thats not a bug..
I found two bugs:
1) Map07 (Research Lab) - If you do a continuous run, it plays the intermission screen music.
2) I can't get 100% Kills in most of the maps. The first map where it happens is Map03 (Main Engineering). I'm not entirely sure what causes it, but I think it's caused by monsters spawning in. Since this mod requires ZDoom based source port, it will add to the total count of monsters every time a new monster spawns in, but this bug will double it. So let's say 10 Imps would spawn in, but the counter will be raised by 20.

I want too download only main files. I already have music...
I cant seem to launch this version of Brutal Doom 64, previous version worked just fine. When I try to launch this version of BD64, it says script error "bd64game already exists, remove or restart zandorinium

you have broke your game the the gun recoil on the mini gun is ridiculous also the new stamina is broken if you stand still it moves up so that means you cant run same with fist and kicking there should be kicking like your other mods brutal doom v 20 . the death match needs more bots and does not switch maps
In tactical mode Chaingun became just awful and practically useless weapon. Terrible recoil. If you play in Hardcore and want survive - I not use Chaingun, especially since middle range...

First of all, loving the 2.0 update with the tactical mode
A few observations about the tactical mode:
1- Personally, I think stamina should drain twice as slower since you get tired really fast, specially when running away from revenants missiles or fighting cyberdemons in later maps.
2- I love the assault rifle very much but I do not see the difference too much between the AR and the normal chaingun since both have similar spread, recoil and fire rate. You could make a separate type of ammunition for the assault rifle (more powerful rounds with lower fire rate) and zooming in with alternate fire for the AR.

Mark, as always, very impressed with your work. You'll outdo yourself (and everyone else) as long as you keep this up. I'd like to ask--can we get breakable stuff like vanilla BD? Lights and so forth, I mean. We kinda need it here too, I feel.

Brutal_Doom_64_V2.zip doesn't include "bd64 zandronum.exe". Is this intentional?

Looks really awesome. But I do have one issue: When I fire a rocket or bfg shot into the water, the game freezes unexpectedly. I had to restart my pc and start from scratch. I copied the files from the Zandronum install folder, and pasted them in a gzdoom 2.1 folder. Because for some reason, in the opening story level, the opengl effects in Zandronum crashed the game. It could be that my computer doesn't support that type of opengl in Zandronum. Could this be addressed, or no?

Hello to everyone
right now I am playing the original doom 64 and there are two things that bother me:
1) why the hell I keep seeing an auto weapons switching during a fight even thought I still have ammo in the weapon I chose to start the fight with?
2) is there a chance somebody here can tell me how to install the absolution source port which can be found here:http://www.doom2.net/doomdepot/abs-download.html
to sum up I want to add two more things:
1) unless you know another way please don't tell me to speak with Kaiser (I already tried to write him threw this site and threw email using these emails:

2) for the source port I want to add that I don't use Doomday engine nor jdoom
