For demanding programs and software, you fall miles short ^^

Frequencies don't mean everything, you gotta overclock your little i5 just to hope to catch my i7, ha!

Inadequate cooling my ***. This CPU have already been OC'd to 3.7Ghz and is at a nice temperature of 47C
Compared to mine, it is... now drop the debate, the fact my computer is more powerful is not something worth fighting days over :/
A Sandy Bridge-E quad doesn't best a Haswell chip.
The only thing your rig would do better is heavily threaded applications that require absurd amounts of RAM. I kinda feel sorry for you getting an LGA2011 board because Intel shafted the enthusiast line in both processor selection (Ivy Bridge-E came like just a few months before Haswell) and in features (no LGA2011 board has PCIe 3.0 and more than a couple of SATA3 ports iirc.)

My board has 4 PCIe 3.0 slots and more 2 SATA3 ports along with USB 3 and all the other stuff i'll probably never use...

The 2011 platform is still very strong if you have the money, thus the "enthusiast" part... and my processor has more threads, higher clock, larger cache's, better game performance and the list goes on.
