Desura looks good at the start but need some serious improvement before i would use it seriously. It does not support many games and even the games it supports not all of the mods for that games on moddb are displayed. On top of that there seems to be issues with certain indie games crashing with no warning and no support. I however believe that as long as it continues to be updated it could grow to become an amazing tool and distribution platform for modders

You can go to the official website (desura.com), click "Download Desura", then "I don't have Desura Install it!" to download the installer, and then install it.

Once the app is running after you logged in with your ModDB account, it should automatically update if there are any updates, and finally you can browse games and mods using "Games" and "Mods" tab - to install & play any mods, you just need to click a blue button "Install mod" or "Install game" on a specific profile.

You can browse Desura website with Desura app.

Even though i love Desura, it happens to have caused BSOD two times already on my laptop. Everyone care to explain how such thing can happen? Seriously, after two months of not having used Desure i installed it again. And after 2 days of barely even using it BSOD apears again. bad luck, coinsidence, or does my PC not like the program?

Why does Desura drop all these files in whatever directories I have open when running it? Like it uses them as temp space or something. Its the #1 reason I've uninstalled it. Tell me thats fixed and I'll try it again.

Here are the files that show up despite it already being installed elsewhere:

desura.exe
desura_appfiles.xml
desura_service.exe
desura_uninstall.exe
dumpgen.exe
toolhelper.exe
utilit.exe

What gives? I've already uninstalled it so running the uninstaller listed there doesn't even work. Just have to delete them manually. Design flaw or what?
