System Shock 2 begins with you being unfrozen from a long cryogenic sleep aboard the Rickenbacker, a security spaceship assigned to tail the Von Braun on her maiden voyage. Apparently, the Von Braun has been infested by an unknown alien race and has converted the crew into relatively intelligent zombies. You must gather bits of audio clips along the way to figure out what happened to your crew and, more importantly, how you can rid the ship of the aliens. Rely on your skills training from either the Navy, Marines, or OSA to guide you on this difficult path. This 3D title offers unbelievable graphics, as the Thief engine is utilized to provide mouth-watering environments and character skins. The astounding graphics, varied RPG elements, and fluid action make this title worthwhile.

hmm, does anyone know where I can get some High-Def GUN models? Rebirth replaces monster models thanks :)
Strangebedfellows.de has some HD Weapon models but not all,and some of them are incompatible with one another.But so far I haven't had a problem with the HD pistol mod with any other mod (using SS2ModManager)

And here is a free tip,if SYSTEM SHOCK on your computer freezes
and you have a dual or a quad core then start the game select it in the
task manager processes and click of one core then its all good!!
Before i knew this i tought it was my 64-bit xp fault.
This was probably the only game which sent shivers down my spine...
Though it looks like an FPS, it's really a hybrid FPS/RPG/horror/adventure game (something Irrational Games/Looking Glass Studios/2K Games were/are known for). There were rumors about 3rd game, and EA Games renewed their rights of ownership (or something) some time ago, but if there's ever going to be a System Shock sequel, it's going to be developed by some EA subsidiary... BioShock is more of a spiritual successor of a franchise
Too bad BioShock's more of a dubbed down version of its predecessor.I love the game but that has always been my opinion about it.
My uncle bought it for 50 dollars when It came out.But now its probly like 50 cents now.Good game though.
