You have the task of finding the hidden heir to a throne that sits empty. Tamriel's previous emperor has been slain, and with no true ruler the gates to Oblivion open and demons begin to invade the people and towns of the empire. It's up to you to find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel.

You might have in-compatible mods installed.
Good game, but Morrowind was sooo much better. Bigger, many more quests, more epic quests too. Morrowind was legendary compared to the commercial Oblivion... Well, I think that sadly, TES5 will follow this way.
And this levelling... Knocked out by a goblin for 20 seconds despite of being level 35... BTW, I'd like to be able to knock goblins or people down myself.

Hey people who can't run oblvion, I had the same problem but I found out about a mod called "Oldblivion" now I can play oblivion at good graphics and without any lag! Just google "Oldblivion"
this game is good. i try it and i like it. despite it game developed in 2006, it still need serious hardware. i been able run this on medium settings, while Fallout 3 i can run high settings.

Yes.. The Dredded Hit Point Mountains, is what destroyed Oblivion.
