Byline: YASMIN WAKEFIELD

TWO men have been charged with a series of robberies in the Marsden and Greenhead Park area of Huddersfield.

It comes after a man was robbed at knifepoint in Greenhead Park last Thursday (June 20) - just days after the robbers attempted to rob a man twice within a few minutes on Monday June 17.

Paul Powell, 18, of Longwood Road,

Huddersfield, has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery between June 13 and 26, three counts of possession of a bladed article and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon. Samuel Shelton, 25, of Wheathouse Road, Huddersfield, has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery between June 13 and June 26 and two charges of driving whilst disqualified. Both were remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court yesterday.

Officers from Kirklees District Crime Team say they are keen to speak to anyone who has witnessed anything that could be connected to the robberies.

A police spokesperson said: "We are making a particular appeal for the public to check CCTV or dash cams for a silver Audi A3 with distinctive black wing mirrors in the Marsden or Greenhead Park areas during this time. Information can be provided via Live Chat online or calling 101, quoting reference 13240342893."
