Terrorism and extremism threats in Kyrgyzstan assessed as high: Secretary of Security Council.

The level of the terrorism and extremism threats in Kyrgyzstan are assessed as high, said the Secretary of the Security Council Damir Saginbayev at the opening of the meeting of the heads of the CIS anti-terrorist units and special services on September 25.

This assumption is based on both possible entering of emissaries and gunmen interested in the destabilization of the situation in the country and presence of deeply conspiratorial underground, Saginbayev noted.

"Possible returning of our compatriots and citizens of other countries suspected of terrorism following the defeats of the Islamic state in Syria is a new challenge for Kyrgyzstan," said Sagynbayev.

Kyrgyzstan makes the maximum efforts to maintain stability in the region adhering to good-neighborliness policy, Saginbayev added.
