Charles Anderson and Lynn Wilson have been appointed to the board of directors of FBT Bank of Fordyce. Anderson is a residential real estate developer and commercial real estate investor who previously was a member of the FBT Jefferson County Advisory Board. Wilson co-owns pharmacies in Rison (Cleveland County) and Fordyce and is a member of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association and the National Community Pharmacists Association.

Natali Melendez has been hired as majority-minority census tract, or MMCT, loan officer at Generations Bank of Rogers. She will oversee the launch of Mi Casa, Mi Sueno (My House, My Dream), a new loan program for the bank. She has more than a decade of experience in the banking industry. Charlie Sessler has been hired as Bank Secrecy Act and fraud prevention specialist at First Service Bank of Greenbrier. She will serve as a liaison for the bank's branches, offering expertise and guidance on fraud-related inquiries. She has more than a decade of experience in the banking industry.

Garbine "Gabby" Vidal-Torreira has been appointed faculty director of the Hendrix Women's Leadership Community at Hendrix College of Conway. She will continue to serve as associate professor of Spanish at the college.

Health Care

Dr. Manojna Konda and Dr. Vivek Yadala have been hired as oncologists at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences of Little Rock. Konda is a graduate of the UAMS College of Medicine, where she completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology-oncology. Konda received her medical degree at Gandhi Medical College in Telangana, India. She is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Yadala is also triple board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He joined UAMS after completing a fellowship in hematology-oncology at UAMS and Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. Yadala completed medical school at the University Shri B. M. Patil Medical College in Bijapur, India.

Holly Trotta has been hired as an advanced practice registered nurse at GastroArkansas of Little Rock. Elizabeth "Liz" Tlapek Turbeville has been hired at Franks Dermatology of Little Rock as a physician assistant. She has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies with Honors from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Prior to joining Franks Dermatology, was a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery, and she has experience as a dental assistant, home health aide and patient care assistant for a plastic surgeon.

Manufacturing

Scott Deakin and Jigisha Desai have been appointed to the board of directors of Central States Inc. of Lowell. Deakin is the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Gypsum Management & Supply Inc. of Tucker, Georgia. Desai is the former executive vice president and chief financial and strategy officer of Granite Construction Co. of Watsonville, California.

Matthew Blaylock, president of Blaylock Heating & Air in Fort Smith, has joined the board of Baptist Health Foundation of Little Rock. Also named to the board are Cara Butler, an associate attorney in the Little Rock office of Mitchell Williams Selig Gates & Woodyard; Jimmy Hammock of Little Rock, who spent 29 years with Meritor Inc.; Tonya Hooks of Little Rock, senior investigator with the Arkansas Crime Victims Reparations Board; Kelly Imhoff, marketing director at Harrison Energy Partners in Little Rock; and Elizabeth Machen, executive vice president and director of marketing and communications at Simmons Bank in Little Rock.

This Week: Frank Cuervo, Director of Athletics at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock

New Job: Frank Cuervo was named director of athletics at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on March 25. He succeeds George Lee, who had been athletics director since 2019 and oversaw the athletics program's move from the Sun Belt Conference to the Ohio Valley Conference. Lee announced in September that he was stepping down to return to his previous role as a senior associate athletic director.

Background: Cuervo brings 26 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, marked by leadership roles across all Division I institutions--FBS, FCS and I-AAA. He comes to UA Little Rock from the University of Illinois Chicago, where he was the deputy director of athletics/chief revenue officer. Cuervo previously served in senior-level administrative, fundraising and revenue-generating roles at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Missouri State, Indiana and Missouri. "Frank Cuervo is uniquely qualified to lead Little Rock Trojans Athletics into the future," Chancellor Christina Drale said in a statement. "His extensive experience, coupled with a proven track record of success in enhancing athletic programs and developing strong community and university relationships, makes him the ideal choice for this critical role."

Education: Cuervo holds a master's in education with a specialization in sports management from Ohio State University and a bachelor's in marketing and public relations from the University of Florida, where he was also a walk-on member of the baseball team.
