The Divided Prismatic Key chest is one of many prismatic fragment chests in Destiny 2: The Final Shape. To open it, you’ll need to solve a puzzle inside the twisted wall of the Cosmodrome using some charging pylons and a Scorch Cannon. You’ll earn the Facet of Command for your trouble.

In this Destiny 2 guide, I’ll walk you through how to get the Divided Prismatic Key and unlock the Facet of Command.

How to blow up the rocks in The Divide

In The Divide in The Pale Heart of the Traveler, specifically the area right next to The Impasse Landing Zone, you’ll find the golden chest that leads to Khvostov, the Divided Prismatic chest, and a bunch of immune rock piles. To get The Divided Prismatic Key and open the chest, you’ll need to blow up those rocks.

First, make your way into The Divide and over to the Divided Prismatic chest. Face it directly and then do a 180º. You’ll now be looking at a wall with a bunch of open holes in it. Jump through one of the larger rectangular holes to the other side. You’ll find a terminal near the wall, two frozen pylons, and another pile of immune rocks.

Walk up to the unfrozen terminal and interact with it to get a Scorch Cannon. You can use this to break any and all immune rocks in The Divide. Before you do anything else, use your new toy to liberate the two charging pylons. Then, turn your attention to the nearby pile of rocks.

Now that you have the Scorch Cannon, go around The Divide breaking all the immune rock piles you see. There’s one in:

  • The Scorch Cannon room
  • By the chest
  • Under the jump ship
  • Across the platforms near the chest and to the right
  • On the way back toward The Seclusion
  • One in the blue side room of the Hydra boss arena from the campaign
  • Near the Khvostov chest

Each time you destroy a rock, it’ll drop an elemental charge, which you can pick up. Drop your Scorch Cannon and bring the charges back to the pylons in the Scorch Cannon room. You can dunk these charges in the pylons, but each kind of elemental orb adds a different number of charges to the machine. You need to get exactly 10 in each pylon without going over.

Here are the values for the charges:

  • Arc orb +2
  • Solar orb +3
  • Void orb +4

If you overcharge one of the pylons, it’ll vomit all of the orbs out into the Scorch Cannon room. After you deposit each charge, grab another Scorch Cannon and go hunting for another. Repeat this process until you have:

  • 3x Arc
  • 2x Void
  • 2x Solar

Put two Solar and one Void into pylon one, and three Arc and one Void into pylon 2 to complete the puzzle.

With the pylons charged, a host of enemies — including a Subjugator — will appear by the chest. Kill them all to get the Divided Prismatic Key. Open the chest and the Facet of Command will be yours.

When you Freeze or Suppress targets with the Facet of Command equipped, you’ll instantly reload your equipped weapons and increase their stats. Defeating targets affected by Frozen or Suppress grants a Stasis Shard or Void Breach.
