You want to see The Weeknd perform with Goku? You got it

Fortnite is the surprise hit of the winter gaming season. Although the battle royale game has maintained popularity for several years, it’s now seeing yet another massive surge in interest. Last week, Epic Games released several new modes that bring entirely different kinds of games to Fortnite. Among the additions is a rhythm game called Fortnite Festival. In it, players can form bands with others while playing as Fortnite characters. Now, players are using it to create the most absurd bands possible and share clips online as characters like Goku, Peter Griffin, Kratos, and Gojo hit the stage.

Fortnite has long been revered — I mean memed — for its eclectic cast of characters and zany emotes. Every new character seems to inspire a fever dream of new scenarios where you’ll see clips of Goku hitting the griddy or Ariana Grande sniping a headshot. Fortnite Festival now allows fans to play as all these characters and perform songs as them in a four-piece band. The sky and the setlist are the limits and fans have been sharing their favorite clips online. In this clip, Doom Slayer, Kratos, Master Chief, and Geralt of Rivia team up to sing Fall Out Boy.

If you want something a bit sweeter and softer, here is Peter Griffin singing Olivia Rodrigo.

In this clip, Olivia Rodrigo brings Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen to his knees.

This group assembled the cast of Attack on Titan for this concert.

Goku can really get down as it turns out.

Even if your friends don’t have funny skins, the scenarios can get pretty wild. I played as Naruto, and I think the Fortnite gods blessed me because my second lobby had someone playing as Sasuke. One by one, the other players in the band quit but Sasuke and I stayed and we re-upped for a second set together. Naruto sang the vocals on “Save Your Tears” by The Weeknd as Sasuke shredded on guitar. The crowd roared as Naruto flossed and then crooned, “I don’t know why I run away. I’ll make you cry when I run away. Take me back ‘cause I wanna stay. Save your tears for another.”

As a SasuNaru shipper, it was a little too perfect. The Weeknd sings angsty and moody love songs that line up with the story of a strained friendship shared by the two in the manga. I’m honestly obsessed, and can’t wait to see a whole bunch more clips as more songs and characters come out.
