This mod is very good for having a mostly vanilla but boosted experience of the combat in Yakuza 4, a small thing that I would like to be changed if you both have the time and the want is to change Saejima's tiger drop to his Tiger Dragon Drop from Yakuza 5 cause I feel that just fits better instead of just being the exact same as Kiryu, you can give it the same properties as Tiger Drop, just an animation change would be nice. I have a similar nitpick with Komaki Parry for Tanimura but I understand how his actual parry isn't fast enough sometimes to pull a combo right after it.
can't add new entity animations (animations with its own unique move properties, name, pattern, etc.) to the game, meaning saejima either gets kiryu's tiger drop or both saejima and kiryu use tiger dragon drop
I'm having an issue where Kiryu's back quickstep attack turns into a side kick instead of the forward punch and stun that he's meant to do. I am not finding this issue with Tanimura's moveset which has the same quickstep attacks, he is able to perform this move successfully.
The move swap changes (tanimura quickstep+k.parry)(saejima tigerdrop+catflip) are stored in a file called boot.par, which is region specific (English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean). Launching the game in Chinese (go to steam for that option) would not use the English boot.par, thus those changes would not work - everything else would work, except for the Texture Changes (Title Screen, heat bar, etc.), which would revert back to stock Yakuza 4 assets.
sorry about that ._. no idea how to add new moves to OOE, but i saw someone get gaiden triple finishers working with y3, so its not entirely impossible, just impossible for me
Really fun mod, was just wondering though if either its a bug that the quickstep cancel with heat doesnt work with kiryu, or if you decided to remove that, just curious.
but yeah for bugs, its only ultimate battle where kiryus quickstep cancel in heat doesnt work no matter what (even if its in red) and also with ultimate battle tanimura doesnt have the quickstep cancel unlocked
There has been reported instances of this occuring; For Ultimate Matches, this is 100% guaranteed, and I have no idea how to correct it. As for everything else, it seems to be a save file issue in regards to Kiryu not using QuickstepCancel with Heat (I've been able to do it on a pre-existing save, but a fresh level 1 kiryu can't do it.) Working on a fix as soon as I can determine the cause
Yeah unfortunately I have no clue about the yakuza modding, but with tanimura its seems just a case of the 'ultimate tanimura' not having the skill (if you go onto ultimate matches as tani, you can notice the orbs are grey rather than blue, so that might be more easily fixable? idk though)
If anyone has user-specific issues to Like a Dragon 4, please reply with them. Specifically Kiryu's ability to quickstep cancel with heat, I've been informed it does not function for some users.
