Description:
============
Main description is for the YOSE version.

Prevents those survivors with essential skills from leaving your base and having the status Away From Home. There are still plenty of other people available for those missions if you want to do them.

Essential skills include Medic, Chef, Mechanic, Gardener, Counsellor, among others.
Also includes Cowards and Slackers.

There are three flavours for Breakdown. Choose only one to install.

1 - Heroes Stay Home - All heroes only, no one else.
2 - Skilled Survivors Stay Home - Only skilled survivors and skilled heroes.
3 - Heroes & Skilled Survivors Stay Home - Both mods merged into one. All Heroes and all skilled survivors.
4 - Storymode - For storymode only. Can be installed at the same time as another flavour above due to it being in a different directory.
5 - Lifeline - For Lifeline only. Can be installed at the same time as another flavour above due to it being in a different directory.

YOSE version has all the same files
It also has an extra file for Storymode called Storymode Skilled + Churchgoers.

If installing for the first time or wanting to switch to a different flavour, it's best to start a new game to have the changes take effect properly.
It used to be that mods that edited files in the rts folder required a new game but, now, not necessarily. As long as the altered characters have not spawned yet any changes should apply once they have appeared in the game.
For storymode and Lifeline, that's a bit different, due to not having levels. If any skilled characters are away from home then simply updating the characters file won't do anything. You may need to start a new game depending on what type of characters have spawned already.
So, if using this on an existing save none of your people at your base (or in currently spawned enclaves) will have changed. Either start a new game or take a throw-away character on the RV by themselves (leaving everyone else behind) then start the recruitment process again.
IMO it's better to just start a whole new game.

There's also a separate file included that prevents Skilled people going missing. The main times people go missing are due to Too Many Hordes and Too Many Infestations events. It doesn't prevent people leaving due to a food shortage or bad community reputation, though.
The install path for that one is the same as the other files here. But, due to the contents its best used in conjunction with a Breakdown or Storymode Stay Home file listed above (flavours 2 or 3 & 4). I haven't yet done the Lifeline file, but it might not be needed. Have you seen anyone have the Missing status in Lifeline? I haven't so far.


Warning
========
YOSE files will not work correctly if used in the Original Game, and vice versa.
There were many changes to the coding between versions and using the wrong file(s) in the wrong version will screw your game up.
Are people committing suicide? That was a bug in the Original Game, but not YOSE. If they're doing it in YOSE you've installed the wrong characters file and it's not a bug with this mod.
Any kind of odd behaviour in the game, not listed in the main description, will likely be because of wrong file versions in the wrong directories, a conflict with another mod or an error made during the process of merging one or more mods together that use the same file(s).

YOSE Installation:
================
1. Back up your characters.win.bmd and fatecards.win.bmd* files (If there are any. If not, go to step 2)
2. Extract the files to a temporary location.
3. You'll end up with 5 folders (plus a Readme file)
4. Pick a flavour - (1-3 are for Breakdown only). Inside each folder is a Game folder.
5. Add the contents of a Game folder to *your* Game folder (Steam--SteamApps--common--State of Decay YOSE--Game)
6. If there are no changes to your current game, start a new one, or go to the next Breakdown level (flavours 1-3 only).
6a. Exception - If this mod affects a person in your core group you must leave them behind before going to the next level.

YOSE Uninstall:

Simply delete characters.win.bmd and fatecards.win.bmd then restore your backup, if you needed to make one.

Due to no xml's provided, a patch, or instructions to make one yourself, won't be possible.

Are XML's included?
- Yes. In the YOSE version all are included. The original has a couple, but not all. I won't be adding the rest as I no longer have the files on this PC. Story/BD/LL characters file is identical to the YOSE version with what I edited.

Doesn't work/not working.
- Did you read the Description?
- The answer is in there.

Can I use this with [insert mod title here]?
- It depends on what file(s) the other mod edits. Mine edits characters and fatecards.
QMJS's Extended Functions mod?
- No. His is incompatible with most mods. It's an overhaul and changes pretty much everything. Parts of my mod are incorporated into it, so I suggest using that instead.
There's another kicking around called Experts Stay Home. It's an inferior rip of both mine and QMJS's version, in which he uses parts of mine anyway. Why would you use a mod from a mod thief, anyway? Use QMJS' mod instead. Far far superior.

Why are comments still locked?
- All the questions have been answered, either in the comments, or the description.
The only reason I'd unlock comments now is to receive abuse or praise. Either of those can be in a DM or post in our Discord server.
