Hey so i tried to do the gamepass version and i just lost everything and have to start from scratch, I was wondering what i did wrong and if maybe you can clarify the folders swapping and naming. IK im in the right location but maybe i renamed the wrong ones or do i place what's in your folder into the one i already have? I C&P the folder finder into my system search and found the folder, I looked at the three folders and found they had like 14kb, 81kb, and 79kb. I used the 14 kb for the profile and the 81 as my main and the last one as the hardcore folder. i deleted the old folders as requested and named your folders their old name and placed them in but when i started up the game i had to make a new character and lost everything. Also do you know how i might retrieve my old character?
So to retrieve an old character there is a couple of methods. They may not be applicable to you but here they are: A) if you didn't make a backup yet deleted your original files then retrieve them from the recycle bin. B) If you jump between multiple devices like PC and Xbox then go back to the previous platform but don't sync the data when asked so that it uses the stored data instead
Also you can't mix and match profile save data that I know of, it always bugs out or refuses to cooperate. So its your characters or the downloaded ones, not both. So you won't be able to have your main character and mine at the same time
To make this simple you just go to your save data location for your profile then notice how your files names look like a bunch of random keyboard spam lol, copy those names and rename the names of my files that you downloaded. the only folder that mattered was the 14kb when it came to order and what to put where. you don't rename the folders or anything like that you just use your original folders and filenames, but you have to rename my files to your file's keyboard spam name.
I realize this is a longshot, but I wanted to ask for clarification. If we use this save profile and character, what happens if we join a random public game? Will the character still have the extra trait points, will it affect the other players?
Truthfully and respectfully I have yet to see a save file with the hard cap of traits AND hardcore rewards unlocked. I am not saying it doesn't exist, however this save includes most corrupted weapons and dlc items. Every weapon I have obtained is at the max upgrade as well and I have enough to max upgrade the 4 corrupted weapons that are missing and those 4 original weapons after reobtaining them and 12 more weapons that may be added in the future, BUT I am not trying to compete against other people's save files. My goal is just to offer the option of having a 100% pre-dlc save file and 99% post-dlc save file. There is a 1k trait point save but the hardcore rewards are not unlocked nor are most of the weapons upgraded. This save also includes my loadouts that I found to be fun to me and I even screenshotted them just so people wouldn't have to download the save to see them. I also included the hardcore character as well because most other saves do not have that character data included for those that may want it. I even explained how I did it in the description so you don't even need to download my save if you don't like the look of my character which I provided a screenshot for. I hope I don't sound rude or anything because I definitely am not typing this to sound that way. If you have anymore questions, comments, or concerns please post them and I will be glad to respond.
Certain firewalls flag unknown publishers and filetypes as viruses or harmful. I assure you if there was any danger then nexusmods would pull my file and probably ban me. I have gotten many similar popups because of McCafe or Windows Defender but the reason is always because its an unknown publisher. Thank you for understanding!
