I think I remember that for Textures, you extract the textures you want to modify with Umodel and use UE4-DDS-Tools to convert them to .png, .bmp, .tga, etc... whatever you want, then you change the color with Photoshop and inject them again with UE4-DDS-Tools. When you finish you only have to pack with UnrealPak the textures ending in .ubulk for the textures with MIPMAPS or .uexp for the ones without MIPMAPS, for some reason the game does not accept the new .uassets created with any development tool.
