Hi there, I am trying to install this on the game pass version of the game but I get the following error after putting it in the paks folder per the instructions
Serialization Error- Action Needed Corrupt data found, please verify your installation.
I verified the game but it still doesn't work, only deleting this mod gets it to start up again.
Just wanted to say thank you for making this mod! I was using your Better Descriptions mod before I found this. The fact that this combines both mods is amazing, and it works quite well.
I have not had any crashes myself yet, but i've only tested using just 1 mod at a time, are there any other mods you also use with this one that might also change any dialog/text in the game?
Are you playing through Gamepass? I've heard the Gamepass version uses different files and will cause most mods to not work. I've tested with the most recent Steam version of the game and the mod is working normally.
Hi Chilly0123 i installed this last night from the Xbox app for PC and played it for a while then installed this mod in the same folder as requested but but it crashes immediately saying 'corrupt data found please verify your installation' any ideas on how to get this working ?
Good to know you're working on this and better descriptions for Octopath 2! It SORELY needs it! Wish there was a way to set of notifications so I could be alerted to it being ready...
good morning I'm afraid this mod only works with the game in English, is it possible to modify it to work in other languages as well? (in my case Italian) I don't expect a translation, I'd settle for the Italian game, and the descriptions of the missions in English, always better than looking for guides online by guessing how they were originally called in English...
Interested in a french version too... I tried to unpak your mod and rename files to GameTextFR before repaking but all UI text vanishes when i load the game with this modified mod.
I put those files in Z:\unrealpak-bundle\SideStoriesHelper_p\Octopath_Traveler\Content\GameText\Database and then drag'n'dropped the SideStoriesHelper_p folder onto the Create-Pak.bat (got the tool to do so here : https://github.com/allcoolthingsatoneplace/UnrealPakTool )

I suspect the 2nd and 3rd lines are the clue here but i don't know anything about making mods, i'm just trying stuff here because i'd really like to use your mod...
Any idea or helping hand from an experienced modder much appreciated !
Hello! Unfortunately i only know English and so that was the only language i created the mod in, this game uses different files for each language and so i only edited the English file (GameTextEN), so switching to any other language in the game will result in the default game text. The game is also very picky about character lengths for everything, so every time you edit the game's text you also have to hex edit the number of characters used in that description, it can be a tedious process but it's the only way i know how to do it at the moment, and it would have to be done in each language file as well.
Hello, does it show any difference in the Side Stories menu for you while using this mod, like the additional list of rewards for the quests? Are you using any other mods that might also make changes to dialog/text in the game?
