Highly suggested to use either https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/186 or https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/404 to catch exceptions that happen during startup of the game.
Use only one of the two main files. They are identical, apart from the -alt one having all the assemblies in the folder with the application (the other has them embedded).
Apologies if this triggers anyone, but, when posting bugs or crash issues, be specific and detailed. Simply telling me that nothing happens or that there is a crash does not help me guess the underlying problem. If you have problems then you need to include the game version, mods used and a copy of app.log from the launcher folder. Without these I can't look into any problem reliably.
All my replies refer to the latest version of the launcher at the time of the reply. If you decide to stick to an older version, then you also implicitly decide to fix any issues yourself. No, I will not look at errors sent from older versions of the launcher (from those that are sent automatically).
16/04/2020 The launcher can now automatically send unhandled exceptions to me. Future fixes will be heavily based on these. The launcher will now check if the mod list was saved with existing conflicts and will display a warning when you try to run the game. If you ignore both warnings (when saving and when running), you are on your own. The launcher will now also TRY to unblock all files that are mentioned in either the DLLName or Assemblies section of the enabled modules (in SubModule.xml). It will report an error if it does not have permissions to do so (nothing will be reported if its already unblocked).

This works for me unlike the piece of f------- shyte native launcher! It works guys. As for the root folder issue I think it updates, it just doesn't tell you it updated, because that's what happened for me, the box stayed empty, but then the game actually ran with mods for the first time ever when I tried it.
I'm able to install the launcher properly, but when i try to set up the path to the game root nothing happens after selecting the right folder. Anyone has an idea about tf is going on?
I am having the exact same issue! I wonder, if I am missing something I use to love this launcher and used it all through the early access. I reinstalled recently and cannot get this to work for some reason every time I select the root folder it just resets and asks me to select the folder again.
this game make with C++. and c++ cant see some characters and compile differently like "ş" => "%^". if your USERNAME on PC contains like "İ""ş" or "(space)" it might be cant find it since many root path going to your USER folder.
When I install the Launcher, every mode comes out except for detailed character creation and birth and death options, but I can't tick any of them and there is no sword icon.Game Version:v1.1.2
+1 The only mods without FALSE dependency issues are Harmony and Native on mine. Also no mods show up in game. Been using mods since time began and using this launcher since it first appeared without any bugs. Upgraded to 1.0.0 and had to upgrade all my mods and now can't get past this bug.
for some reason any launcher I use is just refusing to load or show ANY mods no matter what I do. I have no idea why. Using vortex, this, manual install and nothing happens. When I open the normal bannerlord launcher and go to mods there's nothing there too. Can anyone help?
I just had this happen as I had been using steam workshop for any mods that I could get there. Since this mod launcher is not compatible with workshop I decided I would convert everything over to vortex. Well no matter what I did when I launched the game I didn't see any mods. Turns out there is another button top middle of vortex called "Deploy Mods"
I also suggest using the play button inside of vortex as that is what finally told me "you haven't deployed your mods would you like to do that now?" I thought all you had to do was install and enable them... ?
Either way, even fixing that I still have the problem vpe1585 has, where I can't enable anything... think this mod launcher is dead until OOP updates it... my guess is 1.0.2 broke it?

Did you find out?
Right-click the shortcut -> open the containing folder -> check the properties of the config file.
This worked for me.
