Please help me solve the problem. After reinstalling the computer system, the Morrowind code patch does not run. I installed the necessary library from microsoft, reinstalled the patch code several times, I have already lost hope and there is no solution on the Internet. the exe file does not run, but outputs the following in the log: Traceback (most recent call last): File "mcp.py", line 8, in <module> File "c:\Program Files (x86)\Python (x86)\3.4\lib\site-packages\zipextimporter.py", line 116, in load_modulezipimport.ZipImportError: can't find module wx
Tried to install this, according to the instructions in the included Readme...
But the log file gaves me the following:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "mcp.py", line 621, in <module> File "mcp.py", line 272, in __init__ File "mcp.py", line 311, in merge_defaults File "mcp.py", line 301, in get_default_instal lFileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'mcpatch/default'
I don't know if this means it worked correctly, or not?
Aslo, if you have you install directory for Steam as default, that means it's inside the Program FIles folder, and whatever Anti Virus you have installed, or Windows itself, isn't allowing you to run an EXE from inside your Program FIles folder.
The "spellmaking matches editor" option is great! In the vanilla game making your own spells was awful because of the mana cost (it basically doubled or sometimes tripled the cost of the same effects from pre-made spells). However, I noticed an issue. Originally making a spell that has low magnitude but high duration was more cost-efficient than high magnitude and low duration. But with this option - there's no difference. 30 damage for 0 seconds costs the same as 3 damage for 10 seconds. Which is... not good, imo. Because That makes damage over time spells not as useful. Why bother when you can just do damage instantly? It's still better than the insanely unpractical spell costs of the original, but I wish there was a way to fix this somehow.
On a modern computer with a modern operating system, Code Patch causes the game to crash when entering the “video” section in the settings. I am not the only one with this problem, there are messages on various forums. How can I fix this without installing MGE XE?

I found the solution to this posted a few pages further down, in a post dated 10th July, 2023... posted by user NickSelaras
I was an idiot and only copied the exe file from the zip... and didn't realize I was supposed to copy the "mcpatch" folder as well.

they are not final but for me it's perfectly stable, maybe the "spellmaking matches editor" was modified
