To get this to work after an update, simply open it with notepad. Near the top you'll see a range of #'s across the top. Delete one, then press # to add it back. Save the file and you're done. This is because the game reads the internal date on the file and as it's before the updates date the game won't use it. So doing this and saving it changes the date to after the updates date.
Hey I am trying to install and it's not working I also can't find any #'s when I open the file in notepad. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. PLease help if possible.
Brilliant. To anyone just trying this mod for the first time this is the fix. You just edit the sli file in notepad in any way, by deleting a character and then replacing it for example, and then save it again in datalocal and it works. Also you can scroll down and modify the carry weight to any value that you like. I made mine 8000 and things are working great.
Heads up this trick still works today for those who are curious. To my surprise its literally deleting the first # you see then adding it back with Shift+3. Thanks!
does this mod glitch out the De Vespe Conspiracy? And if so can/how do I "turn it off" for the mod? I've already gone through and deleted files like that before and now I need to replay the damn game.
Apparently, the files of this mod are not up to date. I made a guide on steam to explain what to do to make this mod working. Go check it out.
- Open with winzip the file : "...\steamapps\common\GreedFall\packs\data.spk - It will open a bunch of folders who allow to tweek different settings into the game - For example, take data.spk/attributes/float_defaults.sli - Extract the file into "...\steamapps\common\GreedFall\datalocal\attributes\" - With Notepad++, Edit the content of "...\steamapps\common\GreedFall\datalocal\attributes\float_defaults.sli" - Save & launch the game
There's nothing to update, though. No updates modified the file this mod changes. But if the mod is not loading, just open the file and save it to update the file's timestamp so the game will load it (which is completely unnecessary if you use Mod Slot Support, it automatically bumps the file's timestamp when you run the Mod Slot.)
Uhh.... Well it's working on my game. So, maybe try uninstalling the one you have and installing this one. I modified mine to have 99,999 carry weight because I JUST don't care about the weight system, and I literally loot everything (made worse since I use the Drop all the junk you are wearing mod too!)
I am using the combat tweaks mod and it is incompatible with this one because they both edit: "float_defaults.sli"
Solution to be able to use this mod is to find the line:
<float type="WEIGHT_MAX" default="200" />
in float_defaults.sli and change the "200" to a number you like.
Even with the new DLC, this works. I suspect if you just want to use this mod without any other, you can just do the time stamp thingy that someone else mentioned here, and it should work fine.

That did the trick for me and not only for this mod, but for some other as well!
I had not understood why the mods were not working, and your information was essential to solve the problem.
Just open the file with notepad, delete a letter, write it again, close and save, and that's how the Mods work.
Thank you very much.

I copy pasted the mod file id originally used, overwriting the updated one, opened it via notepad, scrolled down to
<!-- _____________________________________________________ -->
<float type="WEIGHT" default="0.f"saveType="FULL" />
<float type="WEIGHT_PREVIOUS" default="0.f"saveType="FULL" />
<float type="WEIGHT_MAX" default="2000" />

And changed it from 2000 (which was the modders original setting) to 2300 which now shows up in game as working properly with 2300 weight.
