Show markers for nearby animals, add the name of the current biome below the minimap, change the minimap zoom level on the fly, and toggle the minimap with a hotkey.

FEATURES
  • Biome Name: Unlock level 1 of the "Improved Minimap" license to show the name of the current biome below the minimap.
  • Animal Markers: Unlock level 2 of the "Improved Minimap" license to show nearby animals on the minimap. Red markers are aggressive animals (will attack you on sight), orange markers are defensive animals (will attack you only if provoked), and green markers are passive animals (won't attack you no matter what). In the config file you can change the colors and size of these markers, whether or not it shows you farm animals, or disable the feature entirely.
  • Zooming: You can adjust the default zoom level of the minimap, or adjust it on the fly with hotkeys.
  • Toggle Visibility: You can toggle visibility of the minimap on the fly with a hotkey.
  • All hotkeys default to "None" to prevent conflicts with other mods. Make sure to check out the config file and set it up how you like!
  • Multiplayer: No known issues.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with all known mods, including NPC Map Markers. Tested and working on Dinkum v0.5.0.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Make sure BepinEx 6 is installed, as well as TR Tools.
  • Extract ImprovedMinimap.dll into the "Dinkum/BepinEx/plugins" folder.
  • Start up your game to create a config file, then close the game.
  • Go to "BepinEx/config" and open "tinyresort.dinkum.improvedminimap".
  • Change any settings you wish, including setting keybindings for the hotkeys you plan to use. Save the config file when you are done.
  • Start the game back up and test it out.

CONFIGURATION

  • ShowBiomeName: Decides whether or not the biome indicator is shown. (Default: true)
  • Default Zoom: How far zoomed in/out the minimap is when first loading into the game. A value of 1.0 is normal zoom. Lower values are more zoomed out, and higher values are more zoomed in. (Default: 1)
  • Hotkeys: The various hotkeys default to None so that there are no conflicts with other mods and so that no one accidentally presses it when they won't want the feature. The acceptable values are listed above the option.
  • ShowNearbyAnimals: If set to false, the animals minimap markers will not be shown. (Default: true)
  • AnimalMarkerSize: The radius (in pixels) of the animal marker dots. Larger values make for bigger dots. (Default: 8)
  • ExcludeFarmAnimals: If true, then farm animals (chooks, pleeps, vombats) will not be shown on the minimap. (Default: true)
  • AnimalColors: Each animal color setting determines the color of that type's map marker. The setting is an RGBA hex code. To give it a custom color, use a color picker like this to pick a color you like. Then copy the hex code and paste them into the config. The hex code you put in the config must be 8 letters/numbers long and have NO # sign at the start. The first 6 letters/numbers are the red, green, and blue colors. The last two are the transparency. 00 is fully transparent (invisible) and FF is fully visible (opaque).
