The ~ isn't needed but, it is standard practice for modding most unreal engine games, since it ensures the mods inside get loaded after the game's files.
Got this and the add items mod working perfectly fine playing solo via steam, sadly I/we play splitscreen coop via Nucleus and the mods dont seem to load via that launcher. Is there any specific check your modloader does that nucleus bypasses with launching via the exe file? Or is there a "easy" fix?
It works fine for me, try opening the game path via nucleus to make sure it's the install of the game that you installed the mods for. If you are referring to player 2 not being able to give themself perks or weapon mods, that is because only the host can edit variables in the game and have them replicate to other players (It's possible but, I don't have the time to make it).
And not referring to player 2 being able to do it, Just not appearing at all for either player. Running the the exe file raw from the game folder works fine with the mods aswell.
Trying to get this to work to have more "control" over starting perk so we can aim for more specific starter builds.
I know its not really your problem that your mods not working with "my" nucleus but thanks again in advance.
If you have no idea how to fix it i will simply put that plan on hold =P
I don't know much about nucleus but it seems to make symlinks to all of the files in the game when you start the game, it may not be creating the symlinks for the mods. To check open "YourNucleusInstall\content\Crab Champions\" while you have the game running through nucleus, and check if nucleus created a symlinks for the mods. If it didn't make symlinks for the mods, I don't know how to fix it but, you can try checking the file permissions for the mods to see if there's any file permission weirdness going on.
Ye was that that was the issue, The PAK files are not getting "mirrored" to the nucleus content folder. No clue how to fix that tho. I removed write protection on both ~mods and the 2 PAK files and gave them full security access. But no success.
Tried copying the entire game to a separate folder and run nuclues from that "game" folder instead but no success there either.
Nice to know what the problem finally is though. I will look further into it tomorrow but thanks for the help!
The item one just gives empty item slots since the newest update. If you're saying it's working though I can just reinstall from scratch and give it a whirl though. Can't tell what the error is exactly though since the UI seems to work.
Okay so upon a quick reinstall, it does seem to be quasi-working now. I'm not entirely sure what caused it, but it is still repeatable. In this particular case, trying to take greed perk brawler leaves an empty spot, that has no effect and can not be filled. Switching off of it and selecting a different perk adding that, then going back does seem to add it normally though.
Okay upon further testing, I think it is a dumb error lol, so what it looks like happens is the UI saves the last selected item, but doesn't actually keep it selected, so it shows that it's on a item, when it's actually on none lol. I hadn't done it until after the update so I just assumed it was due to the update so waited a few days before saying something.
