Hi, this is a really nice addition to the game. The UI placement seems to be where the problem is really apparent with the mod. I found the placement of the UI elements is really off on the pause menu and learn skills menu.
On the pause menu, the stats (not the characters) are dragged down and hidden on the corner of the screen. On the learn skills menu, the description box of each skills is overlayed by the skill list, making it ineligible/hard to read.
Other than that, the mod seems to be working fine. Thank you very much for making this mod!
I definitely would like to fix these minor issues! Just been busy with other things recently unfortunately 😭 Cruel life, not affording me time to continue playing Chained Echoes!
That's correct - it is still in development, as noted in the description and indicated by the version number.
If you have specific issues it would be helpful if you could give details so that when I have time to return to developing this mod, I can look out for and address them.
Hi, this might be a tall order. Dont even know if its possible with games made for 16:9 ratios. I like playing these types of games on my old crt. Any way to turn 16:9 games into 4:3
If letterboxing (black bars on top and bottom) is acceptable to you then it should already be possible to play this game on a 4:3 monitor in such a fashion.
But if you mean without letterboxing, the TL;DR is that yes I'm afraid it is indeed a tall order, certainly outside of the scope of this particular mod. But possible? Potentially yes, but with many caveats.
The primary impact of such a change would be cutting off the horizontal edges of the screen. The game was designed around 16:9, so increasing the horizontal visual space may in some cases show some things that were not intended to be seen (and this can potentially be addressed by the mod if the modder has time/motivation/ability to do so), but does not remove from the gameplay in any way. But the opposite action of reducing the horizontal visual space will almost certainly lead to UI elements and key pieces of level design being cut off, and likely impacting cutscenes. Thus, the modder would be required to address these issues for the mod to be worth anyone's interest (including their own), and addressing these issues would likely require substantially more skill and time investment, and still potentially result in an experience which is lesser than playing with letterboxing, either subjectively or objectively.
