Seems like a good idea paired with Skallgrim's mod. The massive fleets in that means the AI effortlessly dumps boarding parties on your ships. That's fine on the normal scale in the vanilla game but with the mod, you get insane boarding numbers that dwarf your own crew and there is just no way to really counter it.
