Description

New Dwarven Steam Carbine, a really powerfull ranged weapon that improves with both, rarity and character level.

This power comes with a cost, it reduce your stealth and movement and when you miss it can malfuction. More important the steam carbine needs to be charge each turn to be able to shoot using a bonus action. Once charge it can shot up to two times that turn. (Note that attacks that take several targets in one attack still count only as one shot for it).

The steam carbine is a unique experimental weapon, you will find one and instead of new models of highter rarity you can upgrade it.

To upgrade it you'll need a Steam Engine Prototype. Combine it with the steam carbine and it will be upgrade by one rarity tier.

If you miss any Steam Engine Prototype and don't want to wait for Act III to buy them, there's a debug system that allow you to upgrade the carbine using the Elven Smithing Tool. Each use will upgrade it by one rarity tier.

Location

You can found both, the Steam Carbine and the Steam Engine Prototype around the world:
Spoiler:
Show

-Steam Carbine: Obtained from a locked and trapped chest in Grymforge. Same one with the The Real Sparky Sparkswall.

The Steam Engine Prototype can be found:

-Inside an elegant chest in the Inquisitor's Chamber of Crèche Y'llek. Same one with the Gloves of Belligerent Skies.

-Looted from The Warden in Moonrise Towers Prison.

-One can obtained as a free sample from Avery Sonshal at Felogyr's Fireworks if you meet the requirements for it. Additionally you can buy it from him. The ones for sale restock on a long rest so you can make up for missing ones in previous acts.

As always if you want the items asap, you can use Elven Weaponry - Tutorial Chest.

Know Issues

Class actions and any other action not directly provide by the weapon (other than default attacks) will use normal attack effects. Gameplay wise, everything will work fine anyway, you just don't get the fire VFX and louder SFX.

There's no way to give it a decent sheat position, so I just hide them when sheated. Fixed from 1.0.1 thanks to Tet42.

Installation

BG3 Mod Manager is recommended.

Use either the Vortex Mod Manager or the BG3 Mod Manager and install this mod.

Make sure you deploy your mods if using Vortex or export the mod list if using BG3 Mod Manager.

For Update just overwrite old version pak with the new one. If you want to be 100% sure everything goes smoothly do the following:
-Remove equiped items from this mod from your characters (you can leave them in the inventory, no need to store them), save your game and exit.
-Install the new version (just overwrite old one).
-Load, you can reequip your items as you wish.
As I said, nothing of this should be needed, I update like hundreds of times while testing just overwritten the old file. But the above proccess should be the correct one to update items mods.

Uninstallation isn't support after patch 5. You can try to use a mod that create a temporary container, like tutorial chest summoning. Place items in it and wait for it to vanish into the void with them. Save, exist and remove the mod. There's also several tutorials on nexus that gives methods that may work. Remember to deploy/export after uninstalling mods.

Optional

If you want the items to appear in the tutorial chest use: Elven Weaponry - Tutorial Chest. Load it after all main files from weaponry series.

Alternatively if you want to spam them with cheat engine or some other tool use the bag UUID code and pick what you need: 6f294852-63b4-4439-b7ed-74131b18106b
