Adds brand new skyboxes to Anomaly! Uses skyboxes from Atmosfear, AREA, Dead Air, SWTC, SFZ Project and Dead Air Extended Graphics!
This mod was basically just me taking the best skyboxes I could find and mixing them all together. Really big thanks to Atmosfear, AREA, Dead Air, SWTC, SFZ Project and Dead Air Extended Graphics!
Note: So I finished high school and I got the IB Diploma. Gonna be going to college and I'm pre-med. So I really have no idea if I'm going to even be able to update this mod considering I haven't played Anomaly in a year or any videogames for that matter. I hope I can, I really don't know, if anyone wants to do an update, you can post it yourself or send it to me on Discord and I can update this mod plus give you credit. My discord is d_nan#1730. Update 2.1A:
- Renamed whole addon to "Skies Redux". This way I can avoid confusion.
- Remade a lot current skyboxes in this addon to be 1K resolution except Emission skyboxes, those are 2K resolution. All skyboxes in this mod are 1K resolution now!
- Used better compression to minimize artifacting.
- Added Blackgrowl, NotHere, LVutner, xcvb, sneaky, Jurkonov and HarukaSai to credits.
- Used BAIN Installer format in order to get make installation via MO2 easier.
- Renamed file from hi_guys.rar to freedom_mutants_videos.rar
- Next update, I will add a 2K resolution option and maybe a 4K resolution option but DX10 & DX11 have problems with 4K skyboxes, which is why I would appreciate it if I got some opinions.
- Little Roadmap I plan on going off for the next couple of updates: Update 2.1B - Add 2K resolution option (and 4K resolution option??); Update 2.2 - Adds some brand new skyboxes(hopefully custom made); Update 2.3 - Learn how to fix cubemaps, if applicable
Update 2.1:
- Learned how to make skyboxes will use this for next update
- Brand new emissions that are a 1000% better than the old ones
- Also no more sorry_guys.zip, it is now hi_guys.rar :)

Hey I am curious, I've been installing Enhanced Shaders and Color Grading for 1.5.1 addon. I've also wanted to install optional Corrected Cubemaps. However, they overwrite A LOT of your skyboxes and I am not sure whether it won't throw these corrected ones off balance compared to all other skyboxes that your addon adds.
Let this mod overwrite corrected cubemaps. This mod doesn't use the same cubemaps as vanilla anomaly so correcting them would mean basically reverting like a 1/3 of this mod to vanilla. So just let this mod overwrite.
So it means installing Enhanced Shaders and Color Grading first then Anomaly Skyboxes? I have this doubt too.

You'd probably know that not many people like modpacks, some including me think it steals from the creators of the addons and most of the time people who don't know much about modding come asking for help with crashes that can't really be fixed when they installed a modpack and 10 other mods on top of it. You could have tried asking for permission before posting this or at least add proper credits.
Hey bud, I love your work. Is there an issue with this mod? and Modder? I dont wanna support anyone who is being sideways! Or am I misreading the situation? I have a potato that runs Anomaly super well via diff mods. This is the first mod I've seen that can give me a good-looking pretty game without a performance hit, but again I don't wanna support it if someone as awesome like you thinks something uncouth and sketchy is happening here. Pls reply! :)

Good question. It goes inside gamedata. Should be a simple drag and drop. I stopped using the db/mods method since people were getting confused and some people wanted to see the textures and having it packed caused people to get confused.

Hello these skyboxes look great! I just wanted to ask if they will be added on top of the current ones or if they overwrite the current (original) skyboxes.
They overwrite/replace the current ones.
windows defender's acting up and detecting a Wacatac trojan after i downloaded hi_guys.rar. Is it a false positive?

Very neat pack, thanks! The only think I'm not too fond of is the blowout sky - I think it's too contrasted and pixelated.
Next update I will try to make it less pixelated. The contrast I think looks very cool, and most people on the Anomaly discord liked the contrast but disliked the pixelated nature of it, so I just plan on make it less pixelated. These skyboxes are based off what I want so I am sorry if I don't follow everyone's advice. Hope you understand. :)

this crashes for me unfortunately, no error message just windows not responding anymore to anomaly. just copied the gamedata files. i have skyboxes v1. installed too, found it on moddb too. Are these interfeering with one another? This one and the other skyboxes version1 ? I really would like to know. Thanks in advance.
This mod is not compatible with any other skybox mod. If you have a crash, go to your logs folder in your appdata folder in the Anomaly directory and copy paste the last 10 or so lines. Hope this helped!
Love your compilation of skyboxes, great work! One question... this could just be my end, do some of the skyboxes have some strange color banding or are my settings just wonky? Either way these are beautiful and add a lot... hell I'm still seeing new skyboxes I haven't seen every other day lol
Oftentimes color banding is caused by weird settings when it comes to saturation/contrast. Try messing around with it and then tell me if its still wonky. Enjoy the skyboxes bro.

I have made skyboxes. The skyboxes that you downloaded, I basically remade in order to make it more high resolution. I even made a skybox thats never been seen in any STALKER game but it was messed up so I never released it. But look at this, its proof that I just need to sharpen my skills a little and I can create skyboxes myself, so I just ask for some time: Ibb.co
How is the compatibility with Michikos weather revamp? Would the skyboxes match the weather? Thanks!
Michiko's weather revamp doesn't change skybox textures, it only changes the brightness of the skyboxes. So yea, it is compatible, I believe.
Question, in the zip file.. there is (1k Option) but that seems to be the only option.. are we missing something? And the uhh.. file is called freedom_mutant_videos or something lol
About the 1k Option thing, its because I wanted to release a 2k and 4k optional version too but it would have taken a lot of time so I just decided the 1k version first but forgot to get rid of the option part of the file name. Also the file being called freedom_mutant_videos is just a joke. Its like a continuation of all of my other file names which were all like dumb little jokes basically. Please don't mind it. Hope you had a nice laugh from it, if not, well I hope you enjoy the skyboxes.

I have the previous version of this mod and in order to update it to your most recent release can I just drag, drop and overwrite or do I need to uninstall anything first? I don't use a mod manager at the moment.
Yea sure, you can just drag and drop and it will work.
do u think this would work with TAZ addon? im not sure but i think the TAZ overhaul replaces some skyboxes too. it does changes audio files too, so i was wondering.
1. TAZ shouldn't touch skyboxes, only weapons.
2. If TAZ does modify skyboxes, check if it modifies the weather files, if not then you can safely overwrite and let this mod take priority. If TAZ does modify weather files, then this is probably incompatible.
3. I have used TAZ and I don't remember TAZ replacing skyboxes so make sure to check thoroughly.
