First Strike is a Star Wars total conversion modification for Battlefield 2142. The goal of First Strike is to totally immerse the players into the amazing universe of Star Wars by presenting the most accurate representations of famous Star Wars locales, weapons, and characters, and combining them with exciting, fast paced gameplay and features new to the Battlefield scene. Within this mod you'll find yourself as a soldier of the Galactic Empire or as a freedom fighter for the Rebel Alliance. You'll fight across lovingly detailed recreations of various Star Wars locations with a wide array of weapons and vehicles.
With the Rebel Alliance growing stronger every day and the Empire spread thin as it is, it's no longer a battle of technological might, but simply a matter of who strikes first...

Edit: First Strike can still be played in most maps with sp/coop. By using the BF2142 reclamation Master account server. BF2142 must be started up first and new account started before First Strike or any other mods are played.

Things are working out well working with the GCW team to get things imported. Already have stuff imported for Rhen Var, Hoth and Tattoine. Several FS weapons have also been imported. Check out the new pics for Tattoine and Hoth in the image gallery.
Edit: Also uploaded the short vid showing gameplay in Galactic Civil War with the First Strike Demp imported
Awesome news, keep up the great work!
First Strike as a mod for BF2142 is dead. The only realistic hope to revive the mod is in another game engine. We tried with Unreal Engine 4 with the Battlecry team, but the FS models were too low poly for the look that the team was going for. It takes a huge amount of effort to create a game from scratch using a game engine. All the game engine does is to add basic functionality. All the gameplay mechanics have to be programmed. Also, the Battlecry project got close to releasing an incredible looking infantry only release, but stalled out and has not released a news update in a long while. I have been doing some test importing into Unity. I have contacted Lotte from the Vietnam Era Mod for BF2, who created an EOD game in Unity and he is willing to support a port of First Strike into Unity. I have even tested importing from the Galactic Conquest mod for BF1942. Check out the recent updates in the images section. Although there was a lot of overlap between the two mods there were also areas that were unique to each mod. One example is GC had Tattooine Skiffs, a Sarlacc pit and a Bestine map with Cloudcars.
Unity can even handle space maps. There is a team working on porting Xwing Vs Tie Fighter to the Unity Engine. Moddb.com
My vision is to recreate the mods in Unity using existing models to start off with. The project could then be opened ended for future development and enhancement. This hopefully would avoid the pitfall of being seen as competition to EA who currently holds the Star Wars game license, and consequently being shut down, as has already happened.
There is also an free Eve of Destruction Unity Demo on the EOD site:

Star Wars Battlecry site:

Also, Galaxy in Turmoil wasn't shut down per say, but was ordered to stop development as a Star Wars game. Last I checked, they were working on turning it into a game in the spirit of Battlefront, but is its own universe.
There is another Star Wars Battlefront game in development on Unity called "Galatic Civil War".
Interesting. He even has a playable demo

It's really great to see how the work for this mod still goes on after all those years. Nothing we should take for granted as other mod examples show, expecially not in these days.
Keep it up!
Will it contine to be like Battlefield with vehicles and first-person-only mode? Because for third person action with unlimited ammo we already have two new Battlefront games out.
It definitely will not be a Battlefront clone. There is no point in that. For one thing, multiplayer bots will certainly be a bit part. Game play will be the main focus. After all, we don't have any budget required to do AAA quality graphics, and even if we had a team that could create high quality graphics, it would take too long to develop anything and we don't want to be seen as competition with EA. No, I plan to use the cockpits created for all the models and keep the FPS style.
Thanks for the continued support on the singleplayer side of things. Will Space to Ground combat be considered? Will the moddb page be the best place to track progress?
Sounds good. Graphics didn't matter to me when I played it as mod for BF2142. For eople who appreciate gameplay in general the graphics shouldn't matter either.
So this mod is still alive or dead?
I think it's being redone in the unity engine.
