Based on the Marc Laidlaw short story--Epistle 3--Boreal Alyph aims to capture Valve’s lost vision, and bring a fun, and satisfying end to the celebrated Half-Life series. Epistle 3 is a synopsis of Half-Life 2: Episode 3, written by ex-Valve writer, Marc Laidlaw. Since its publication in the the 25th of August, 2017, Half-Life fans at Keep Away From Fire have been working hard to bring Epistle 3 to life in the source engine.

Boreal Alyph has a new update to share, albeit small. No need to panic, though, as the full update is set for January…
We’ve once again improved on graphical fidelity, as well as create more art and craft more and models — but that’s not all. Level design is underway, as we experiment with new game play opportunities, combat tactics, and much more.
The details of which will be shared in January. For now, however:

I think it would be amazing if the people from this project were to release the source code of the project to the public to try and finish.
Stopping by to pay my respects, almost like visiting the grave of an old friend. What a shame this got canned. Now, Project Borealis is our only hope, and things aren't looking exactly fantastic for that one either. No word on their official site since 2020, and nothing from their Twitter since August of last year, though according to one user on their subreddit, it's still alive.
Vance being gone too sucks as well. EZ2's out and great, and the only big mod to really look forward to now is Inhuman. Hoping that actually comes out.
Here's to all the hoping, here's to all the hype. Hopefully something becomes of Episode 3.
There is always Infinite Finality, its smaller in scope but that may help it actually be finished.

I wouldn't pin much hope on Vance if I were you. I was a member of the modding team and they're all edgy 14 year olds jumping on the bandwagon to try and get famous rather than actually make a decent mod.

Personally I think it's all to do with politics. Especially mentioning Episode 3.
This guy is well talented but there is a stumbling block on his Journey. Vance. I was really really looking forward to that. But hey life goes on. Good luck to you.
First Vance got cancelled, now Boreal Alyph, well that's really f*cked up.
I personally waited BA more than PB because of Source 1 and mods support, but looks like we have no choice right now.
Anyway, i hope PB developers will make their project to the end some day, so damn excited about how they will implement Epistle 3 script.
EDIT (Oct 8 2022): Vance has returned back to life with a new team by the wheel, now i wish some team will revive Boreal Alyph once like that :<
