So, anybody else hear about the theory that the dark side of the force not really being a different side of the coin, but a deeper form of it?
If anyone has heard about the Anakin being 'reincarnated' or put it another way, Rey is actually another Chosen one of virgin birth. A force sensitive thats supposed to bring balance to the force. JJ Abrahams has already confirmed that Rey's unnamed mother was not in the film. But if that ends up being true it is seriously disappointing.
That was NOT the case at Rey's birth. Luke was alive and well and ACTIVE at that time. No need for Rey to be born.
In addition, the Force is UNCONCERNED with Light and Dark, Good and Evil, its only interest is the Balance. Given that the Jedi FAR outnumbered the Sith -- for centuries -- the Chosen One should have been born eons ago. But he/she wasn't. Since the Jedi far outnumbered the Sith -- for centuries -- then why can't the Sith outnumber the Jedi for a time? Fair is fair and balance is balance. Add to that the fact that it is UNCLEAR as to whether or not Snoke is even Force Sensitive at this point.
So, not only could the innumerable authors of the novels keep things straight, neither can Disney and J.J. Abrams. Admittedly it is a confusing aspect of the series but if they can't get something like this right then why should we have any new hope (:/) of Star Wars being good again.
Rey was never trained for piloting and yet shes a great pilot. She learned how to use the force just by believing, no master of emotion or anything and while under duress. Its really odd how we've gone from something original and lame (lucas prequels) to now basically 90% fan service retread of episode 4, and now possibly fan fiction level of writing.
Disney and Abrams should've probably taken Lucas's ideas for episode 7 into consideration after all.
The REAL problem with The Force Awakens is that its basically A New Hope 2.0.
J.J. Abrams stressed way too much about how its an original story and such,but its not. And about Kylo Ren. The similarity with Revan is way too striking. Sure,he was a pretty ok character,but totally unoriginal. Despite this,I couldn't help but leave the cinema with a big smile on my face,satisfied about how this movie helped reinvigorate my interest in Star Wars. I'm sure the fans were also reinvigorated by it.
Snoke is an individual wielding some great power,no doubts about it. Sure,you might say that we have yet to see him display it,but he is bound to be a powerful figure in the Force. Some have begun to speculate that he is actually Darth Plagueis...
Ultimately,I am utterly disappointed by Disney's lack of interest in the Expanded Universe and originality. The interest for big profit prevails instead,huh?
The only similarities with Revan I see is the appearance particularly with the cloak and armor configuration. Revan was a badass while Kylo was no better than a sniveling emo.
