Ive been PC gaming since the early 90s and this isnt how PC gaming works, or well should work anymore.
Seriously those defending this are part of the problem, rome 2 is one the biggest games of the year made by a multi million studio (their biggest budget ever apparently) and you're telling me this is unintended or down to individuals PCs...yeah right, amazing how low budget indies seem to not have the issues this series seems to have.

Releasing a broken game with the promise of patches eventually or hoping some guy somewhere will make it all alright is unacceptable whether its TW or whatever they are taking the **** and won't change until morons stop lapping it up.

Where did this gigantic wave of braindead spoiled children come from? Most of you must have been recently given a PC by mom and dad because most of you are obviously relatively new to PC gaming.

Sure, Rome 2 has many problems. That is why CA is going to be releasing patches every week to fix many of them as fast as possible. This has been understood by the community since the game was announced since it is practically a given with any PC game seeing as they cannot test for the thousands upon thousands of set ups we consumers are using.

You guys saying they "should be ashamed" or "Rome is the nuttiest POS of all time" or whatever form of hyperbole suits your needs just need to calm down, relax, and take a few breaths. This is how PC games work sonny Jim! Again, I get it that for some this game has been worse than the average release but that is why we are smart to be PC gamers. We get support unlike anything the console gamers get in the form of patches.

To tell CA they need to give "A formal apology" (I lol'd loudest at that one) is just ******* stupid and makes that person really sound like a douchebag. Of course you can complain and do whatever you want but just know that in the end we will most likely have a great addition to our TW gaming library.

if you buy and/or pre-order a broken product then you have the right to complain. its like buying a car and it not having tires or alternator. the dealer says, we will pay for the repairs, just take it into the shop every week till you get it running.

if you are going to release a crap product at least be honest and or take some money off of it for beta testing the software. we need to start holding software manufacturers to the same standards that consumers hold everyone else at.

then again, it doesn't effect me at all. like a lot of consumers these days i use piratebay to test drive the car before i buy it. so, no love loss here.

THANK YOU! At least someone else here has the same thoughts as me. If anyone remembers when Empire: TW was released, it was worse than the release for Rome II. At least for me it was. Look at Empire: TW now. It hardly has any bugs if any that I noticed and over time, reviews got much better for the game over time.

Couldn't agree more with TheTarman, I've been gaming on PC for many years and I've yet to find a game that is perfect when its released. How many of you bought Empire Total War when it first came out? I did, and guess what I experienced? A lot of glitches and CTD's, so I waited a few months for CA to update it and wallah it works fine now, or Medieval 2 for example, I have that damned cursor problem due to using a ATI graphics card. All I'm saying is that no game is perfect, if you desire perfection, please, build yourself a time machine and jump into the future, where you will find that no game they make for you will be playable on any system you have.

The vast, vast majority of complaints on the forums and elsewhere are not even about performance issues. You're attacking a straw man just like the fellow above you.

Granted, a lot of people are having performance issues, but the brunt of the outrage is concerning the terrible AI and gameplay alterations (capture points on open battlefields, battles lasting only a few minutes, units not keeping formation, etc). These are things that even a modest amount of playtesting, on any computer setup whatsoever, would have uncovered. But CA rushed it out the door before it was finished, and we're all the suckers.

Explain to me why the AI from a month prior to release in this video is the total opposite of what we have at launch?

Because this is obviously two players sparing and features no AI whatsoever. It takes exactly 1 custom battle to prove this. The answer? We've all been had.

CA has an excellent marketing department and they managed to convince their fans that a 75% finished game was 100% finished. This, understandably, upsets a lot of the fans, including myself.

You can slander and throw ad hominem around at straw men like every other idiot apologist on the internet with a higher WPM than IQ, but it changes exactly nothing: the game simply is in a very, very rough "beta" state right now, and your paltry and vacuous post does naught to fix it.

So then what is it you hope to accomplish? To rile people? Too late, CA already beat you at that 5 times over uphill both ways when they released a game as blatantly broken as this. You simply pale in comparison, my friend.

Well.. first of all its not a bad game. but i needs so much work. (like every CA game on relase date)

and.. what ****** people of is that why cant te game be playable when its release why should we wait for patches? and why isnt it tested before release.
- why release a broken game? they should have waited a month before releasing.
