From four weekly flights from Atlanta to Frankfurt in 1979 to 46 weekly services to four German cities in summer 2024, we’re thrilled to have recently celebrated 45 years of flying nonstop to Germany from the U.S. Since the ATL-FRA route opened almost half a century ago, we’ve transported more than 21 million customers between Frankfurt and the U.S. – more than 25x the population of the city itself. Throughout all this time, Germany remains one of our most important trans-Atlantic markets. From a business perspective, combined exports and imports between the two countries totaled $68 billion (€63 billion) between January – March 2024, making the U.S. Germany’s biggest trading partner. Delta’s long-standing connection to Germany demonstrates our commitment to constant innovation and elevated service for years to come.

Last week, we recognized former Delta CEO, Jerry Grinstein, by renaming the Executive Building on our main campus in his honor as a tribute to his transformational impact on the company.   Grinstein paved the way in cementing Delta's core values: a people-first culture and commitment to servant leadership. We have officially opened our highly anticipated Delta One® Lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) — the first of its kind — offering an unparalleled experience for Delta One ticketholders. Spanning 39,000 square feet, this premium space features a full-service brasserie, a fresh market and bakery, and dedicated wellness areas, all tailored to help travelers rest and recharge during their journey.  Later this year, additional Delta One lounges will open in LAX and BOS.
